Chapter 513 - Chapter 513: This Girl Is Definitely a Maniac

Standing on the outskirts of the crowd, Yang Mi coldly observed Emma Watson, dressed in a blue gown, squeezed into the center, chatting and laughing with Martin.

She still found it ridiculous.

Sure, Martin was handsome, rich, and talented—but he had way too many women. He was definitely not good boyfriend material.

She really didn't get why all these girls were throwing themselves at him like moths to a flame. How embarrassing!

And Emma Watson—always treated like a little princess on set—was still putting on such an obvious display of flattery in front of Martin. Disgraceful!!

And that producer lady—hello, you're in your thirties already! What are you even doing here? So embarrassing—!!!

"Mi Mi, come here! What are you standing outside for? Come chat with us!"

Just then, Martin spotted Yang Mi standing on the outskirts and waved her over. The girls around him parted to make way, their gazes filled with envy.

"Oh, coming!"

Yang Mi responded sweetly, catching the jealous glances around her from the corner of her eye. A sudden sense of triumph surged within her—maybe dating Martin wouldn't be such a bad idea after all!

So, like a fluttering butterfly, she gracefully ran toward Martin and instinctively stopped behind Emma Watson.

Emma glanced at Yang Mi, her expression somewhat complicated. Was this new bestie of hers about to turn into a romantic rival?

Then again, she already had so many rivals. Maybe having an ally wouldn't be such a bad thing?

Who knew what was going through her mind, but as soon as Yang Mi got closer, Emma flashed her a bright and warm smile—so warm it nearly made Yang Mi pee her pants.

Emma's spoiled princess attitude was well-known on set. She always carried a touch of arrogance—except when it came to Martin.

Since when had she ever given someone such a warm and friendly smile?!

Fake. Too fake!!!

Yang Mi couldn't help but roast her internally: Seriously, girl? I was just a little excited and enthusiastic earlier—did that really make you see me as a mortal enemy?!

Her smile stiffened.

Yet, Emma took that stiffness as sincerity and friendship, nodding in satisfaction.

Martin, watching the silent interaction between the two girls, immediately caught on to the complete disconnect in their thoughts. Finding it amusing, he chose not to expose it, instead waiting to see how things would unfold.

"How have you been lately, Yang Mi? Are you getting used to everything? How's your English coming along?" Martin asked.

Yang Mi was deeply touched, thinking that Martin genuinely cared about her.

In a soft, doll-like voice, she replied, "Everything's great. Everyone has been really nice to me, especially Emma. We've become besties."

"Good job, Emma. That's how it should be—stick together and support each other."

Martin casually praised Emma, making her beam with joy and even more pleased with Yang Mi.

Yang Mi, on the other hand, grew increasingly uneasy, feeling that Emma's smile carried some hidden meaning.

The next day, after filming wrapped, Emma invited Yang Mi to go shopping. Yang Mi declined, using a stomachache as an excuse.

The day after that, Emma invited her to Martin's house. Again, Yang Mi refused with the same excuse.

On the third day, Emma stormed into Yang Mi's room, holding a box of pills.

"Mi Mi, here. These are for menstrual pain. I've used them—they work wonders."

Yang Mi: "..."

After Emma left, Yang Mi silently tossed the medicine into the trash. That stuff had to be poisoned, right?

Later that day…

As usual, Martin threw a party and invited the young actors from the cast.

Emma found Yang Mi hiding in a corner and lowered her voice, saying, "Mi Mi, I've decided. I'm going to confess to Martin tonight. What do you think? Should I be bold or play coy?"

Yang Mi stared at Emma's sincere expression, utterly confused.

What kind of prank was this little b*tch pulling now?

But… she didn't seem to be joking. Had she misunderstood Emma all along?

Before she could sort out her thoughts, Emma continued, "I'm a little scared to do it alone. Why don't we confess together? Come on, let's do it together, okay?!"

To convince her, Emma even switched to a high-pitched, cutesy voice.

Yang Mi was completely dumbfounded.

This… this wasn't going at all like she had expected!

A trap, right?! This had to be a trap!

Seeing Yang Mi's hesitation, Emma took her silence as agreement and grinned. "Great, it's settled! After the party, we'll find an excuse to stay behind. Hee hee."

Settled?! When did I agree to anything?!

Wait—don't just leave like that!!!

At 9 PM, the party ended.

Yang Mi tried to slip away with the crowd, but Emma caught her, giving her an encouraging pat. "Don't be scared! I'm here with you. If we succeed, we succeed together; if we embarrass ourselves, we embarrass ourselves together. That's what besties do, right?"

"Ah… hell no! We're not besties! I was wrong, okay?! I never should've sucked up to you! I never should've befriended you! I don't want to confess to Martin! I'm still just a kid…"

Emma dragged Yang Mi into the bathroom. Several times, Yang Mi wanted to spill her true thoughts, but every time she saw Emma's little face—flushed with excitement and just a hint of madness—she hesitated.

"So scary… Emma's definitely lost it. If I say the wrong thing, she might kill me, right?!"

Soon, the apartment emptied out.

The young actors took taxis back to set, with Martin covering the costs.

The place seemed empty.

Martin glanced around, then smirked slightly, locking the door before heading to the bathroom.

That smirk—it was the exact kind villains wore in fantasy movies. A mix of devilish charm and danger, like Lucifer himself.

Emma, who had been peeking through the door crack, nearly had a heart attack. Her legs wobbled involuntarily.

"Martin went into the bathroom… Is he going to shower?! Oh my God, he left the door open. Is it because he thinks no one's home? I—I can't take it. My heart is racing. Mi Mi, should we sneak a peek?"

Yang Mi stared at Emma like she was an alien. "This girl is definitely a pervert. How did I not notice before?"

Yet, despite herself, images of Martin showering popped into her mind—toned muscles, perfect proportions, devastatingly handsome features…

Gulp!

Yang Mi unconsciously swallowed, then immediately freaked herself out.

Just as she was about to firmly reject Emma's insane suggestion, she saw Emma already sneaking out of the bathroom—dragging her along!

In a hushed voice, Emma whispered, "I hear water running. Heh heh heh, Martin is showering! We'll just take a quick peek. If we get caught, we'll say we were looking for him to say goodbye and accidentally stumbled in."

As if possessed, Yang Mi found herself unable to utter her rejection. Her feet moved on their own, following Emma, while images of Martin in the shower replayed in her mind.

Gulp!

Another swallow.
