Chapter 519 - Chapter 519: Martin – "I Am a Boston Police Officer"

"Hurry up, throw the bag over! No tricks."

Daisy had just reached into her shoulder bag when the Black man suddenly said, "Hey, wait a minute!"

The next second, he grabbed her arm, snatched the bag, and overturned it onto the ground. Various small items scattered out—

A wallet, a makeup compact, tissues, and a small round bottle, which was clearly pepper spray.

The man sneered, picked up the wallet, and kicked the pepper spray aside before sizing Daisy up.

"Not bad, girl. Now, go over there and lie down!"

He pointed toward a corner piled with cardboard boxes.

"No, I gave you my money! Please don't hurt me!"

Daisy's legs went weak.

She knew exactly what this man wanted.

She didn't want to be assaulted, and this homeless-looking man—who knew what kind of diseases he might have?

"Enough talk. Come with me, or I won't be so nice. Cooperate, and nothing bad will happen."

The man flicked open a switchblade in front of Daisy's eyes and dragged her toward the pile of boxes. As she nearly collapsed, he shoved her down and reached for her clothes with a disgusting grin.

Tears streamed down Daisy's face. "No, please! No!"

Just then, a voice rang out from nearby: "Boston PD! Hands in the air!"

"Fuck! A cop? In this dump?" The man looked shocked.

"This is your final warning—hands up!"

"N-no, don't shoot!" The man slowly raised his hands and stood up.

Martin didn't rely on his formidable combat skills. Instead, like a real police officer, he held his gun steady with both hands, standing a few meters behind the man.

"Now, get down on the ground, face down, hands behind your back. Move it."

"Sir, you've got this all wrong! She's my girlfriend—we were just having some fun," the man tried to explain.

Daisy had struggled up from the boxes, shaking her head frantically, though she was too terrified to speak.

Standing in the shadows, Martin wore jeans and a jacket, making it hard for Daisy to see his face. But she could clearly see the police badge clipped to his jacket, and a wave of relief washed over her.

"Miss, are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine! He robbed me and was about to—" Daisy pointed at the man, shaking with anger.

"Hey, bitch, don't make shit up! We just had a little argument, and now you wanna send me to prison? Officer, don't listen to her! She's lying!"

"I am not!" Daisy snapped.

Martin ignored the man's lies. Instead, he barked, "Shut up! Eyes forward. No sudden moves."

With his gun in his right hand, he reached for his handcuffs with his left, pressed his knee against the man's back, and cuffed his hands behind him. Then, he yanked the man's pants down to his knees.

Martin then smoothly recited the standard legal warning:

"You have the right to remain silent. If you choose not to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, the court will provide one for you. Do you fully understand these rights?"

In the U.S., if a police officer restrains a suspect but fails to read them their Miranda rights before questioning, the suspect can petition to have their case dismissed.

After finishing the warning, Martin hauled the man to his feet. As the suspect turned his head and caught a glimpse of Martin's face, he suddenly gasped in shock.

"What the fuck?! It's you! You're that big-time movie star! You're not even a real cop! Let me go, or I'll sue your ass!"

Daisy, who had finally gotten a clear look at Martin, stood frozen in a state of disbelief.

"No, he is a cop!"

At that moment, Paul arrived, gave Martin an approving nod, and flashed his badge at the suspect.

"Martin has a signed one-month contract with the Boston Police Department. Until the contract expires, he has full police authority. So, kid—don't cause trouble."

"Holy shit! A real crime just happened, and Martin stopped it! Holy shit, you're like Spider-Man!" A voice exclaimed excitedly.

It was Leonardo.

He had followed them here—whether out of concern for Martin or because he was scared to sit alone in the car was unclear.

…Probably both.

"Miss, are you sure you're okay?" Martin asked Daisy again, as she still seemed dazed.

"Uh… oh… ah—Oh my God! Martin saved me! I was saved by a superstar!"

Her lingering fear was instantly replaced with sheer excitement.

As Officer Paul led the handcuffed suspect past Daisy, the man grumbled, "So what?! Fuck my life—I just got arrested by Martin! This famous bastard handcuffed me himself! This world is insane!"

"Martin, you really are a cop now," Paul said as he passed.

Martin nodded and was about to say something when his phone rang. He answered, exchanged a few words, then hung up and smiled at Paul.

"Looks like my time as a cop is about to end. And this—" he gestured toward the suspect, "is a great way to wrap it up."

"I don't think so!" the suspect muttered.

Leonardo asked, "What's going on?"

"Martin Scorsese just arrived," Martin replied.

"Alright, let's head back to the station. Miss, you're coming too," Paul said.

"Wait, please! My stuff—I need to pick it up," Daisy gestured at her scattered belongings.

"I'll help you," Martin offered.

"Me too!" Leonardo chimed in.

"Oh my God, Martin and Leonardo are helping me pick up my things! This has to be a dream—an amazing dream!"

Back at the car, Leonardo was about to hop into the backseat when he suddenly hesitated.

"Uh… where's the suspect sitting?" he asked.

"The back," Paul replied.

"Uh… then can I… uh… maybe…?" Leonardo struggled to find the words.

"Alright, you can take the front seat," Martin cut in, saving him.

"Oh, thanks! You're the best!" Leonardo sighed in relief.

"Leo, you're such a coward. The suspect is already cuffed," Paul teased.

"Hey, who knows? Maybe he'll break free mid-ride! That's how it happens in the movies!" Leonardo insisted.

And so, Daisy, Martin, and the suspect piled into the backseat, with Martin sitting in the middle to separate them. Leonardo took the front passenger seat, and Paul drove them away.
