The night was very quiet.
After reintroducing themselves, Yu Xie and Eula looked at each other in silence for a long time.
"You've had a lot to drink. Do you need me to walk you home?" Yu Xie asked.
"No need, I have a good tolerance. I'm perfectly sober, really," Eula replied with a faint smile, making a silent resolution in her heart.
That's right. The story of the past had already ended, but the story of the present was just beginning.
No matter what, Yu Xie was back. There was still a chance, and this time, she wouldn't let him slip away again.
"But there's a place I'd like to go. If you have the time, would you come with me?" After a moment of silence, Eula spoke again.
"Sure," Yu Xie replied.
And so, the two of them left Mondstadt together in the quiet of the night.
On the road outside the city, the bright moonlight illuminated the path beneath their feet. The flowers and grasses along the roadside swayed gently in the night breeze, accompanied by the faint chirping of insects.
Heading out of the city so late at night didn't seem like a good idea, but Yu Xie didn't think much of it.
After all, it was Eula who brought him out. What ill intentions could Eula possibly have?
Surely she wasn't planning to find some secluded place to do something… indecent?
Yu Xie chuckled at himself for his own thoughts and quickly shook the strange ideas out of his head.
But then again, no matter how many times he found himself in situations like this, Yu Xie couldn't help but sigh. His past self had truly accumulated quite a number of "debts," and now there was yet another one to repay.
The two of them slowly made their way into Whispering Woods.
"Eula, this place is..." Yu Xie couldn't help but ask.
"Whispering Woods. It's a very quiet place," Eula said as she walked. "We'll reach our destination soon.
Not long after entering the forest, a small cabin standing amidst the trees came into view.
The cabin appeared to have been there for several years, but it was well-maintained, likely cleaned and cared for regularly by someone.
It wasn't luxurious—just a simple cabin, resembling a ranger's outpost.
"We're here," Eula said, stopping in front of the cabin. "Back then, when you first arrived in Mondstadt and had no place to stay, I lent you this place for a while."
"This place..." Yu Xie said as he looked around, taking in the sight of the small cabin.
Naturally, he couldn't recall anything from the past. His memories held no images of this cabin.
"I honestly thought I'd never have the chance to come back here with you," Eula said, her tone slightly somber. But she quickly regained her usual energy. "Let's go inside and take a look."
"Alright," Yu Xie nodded.
Pushing the door open, the interior of the cabin came into view.
The furnishings were simple: a bed, a table, and a chair. Other than that, there was nothing else.
Though simple, the interior was spotless, a testament to the care and effort of whoever cleaned it.
"Before I met you, this was my secret hideout. After I met you, it became our secret hideout," Eula said, glancing at Yu Xie.
A secret hideout... Childlike as the term sounded, Yu Xie felt no hint of immaturity in it, only the sincerity behind Eula's words.
After saying this, Eula fell silent for a moment before letting out a self-deprecating chuckle.
"Sorry, I must seem strange, huh? Talking about the past like this on my own... Even though you don't remember, I keep bringing it up, as if I want you to remember," Eula said softly.
"..." Yu Xie was quiet for a moment as well before replying, "Not strange at all, not one bit. In fact, why don't you tell me more about the past? Like how we met and how we grew closer."
Hearing Yu Xie's response, Eula paused for a few seconds. Then, a radiant smile bloomed on her beautiful face. She nodded and began to speak:
"Our first meeting was by the shores of Cider Lake. Back then, I was sitting there alone, lost in thought about so many things...
"Over time, we gradually grew closer. You told me I would one day join the Knights of Favonius. At the time, I thought it was impossible. I mean, how could someone from the Lawrence family ever join the Knights? But now, here I am...
"Back then, obviously you were around my age, yet you seemed to understand so many things I didn't. You really taught me a lot..."
Eula slowly spoke of the past, and it felt as though those memories were unfolding before Yu Xie's eyes.
He still couldn't recall the things he had once experienced, but it was as if he could feel them vividly, as if he were there himself.
"In the end, you said you had something to take care of and would be leaving for a while. I never expected that farewell to be... forever..." As she spoke, a mist seemed to cloud Eula's eyes.
Seeing her like this, a pang of sympathy rose within Yu Xie's heart.
This strong and beautiful girl was truly heart-wrenching.
Yu Xie didn't hesitate. He walked in front of Eula, smiled gently, and said softly,
"I'm back."
Those four simple words left Eula stunned for a long time. She looked at Yu Xie, and the mist in her eyes was dispelled by some unknown force. Tears welled up in the corners of her eyes, and a smile bloomed once again on her face.
"Mm, welcome back."

After parting ways with Eula, Yu Xie walked alone on the way back to the inn.
It was already late, and aside from the occasional patrolling knight, there were no ordinary people on the streets.
As he walked, Yu Xie pondered. To be honest, he had never imagined he would have connections with so many people. Even though this was something that could have been determined long ago, he still found it hard to believe.
The night breeze swept through the streets of Mondstadt, as if playing a melody for the night.
On top of a tall building, a beautiful blonde woman stood, her figure more elegant and stunning under the night sky. She watched Yu Xie walk alone, a longing glimmering in her eyes.
"My lady, aren't you going to meet him?" Another woman's figure appeared behind the blonde woman.
"Let's wait a bit longer. I'll go see him when I've forgiven myself. Also, I've told you many times, we are no longer a Fatui, don't call me 'my lady' anymore."
"I'm sorry! Miss!"
"Sigh... Alright, it's getting late. Let's go back."
"Yes!"
