Chapter 243 - Chapter 243: The Destruction of the Titan Star

Titan. Once the thriving home of Thanos and his people, it now stood as a barren wasteland, a shadow of its former glory.

Once, like many planets across the universe, Titan had faced a critical challenge: a population explosion that outpaced its limited resources. In desperation, Thanos had proposed a brutal solution—mass genocide, carried out randomly and without bias.

But his plan was rejected. Titan's leaders chose denial over sacrifice, and the resulting chaos saw the planet devour itself. The race that had once reached for the stars perished.

Thor set foot on the desolate land, his boots crunching against the dry, cracked soil. The air was still, heavy with the weight of what had been lost.

What he saw was a planet devoid of life, but not without potential. In the years following Titan's collapse, the planet had begun to recover, its ecosystems slowly healing. But it remained uninhabited, an unspoken warning to those who might attempt to settle there.

Even without its people, Titan held meaning for Thanos.

Thor gripped Stormbreaker tightly, his resolve unwavering.

Back in Asgard, the battle raged on, growing more dire with each passing moment.

The city was in ruins, its once-proud structures reduced to smoldering rubble. Statues of Asgard's greatest ancestors crumbled under the relentless onslaught of Surtur's attacks.

Hela fought with unmatched ferocity, her black spikes shooting like a Gatling gun, slicing through everything in their path. Despite her efforts, the Eternal Fire granted Surtur near-immortality. No matter how grievous the injuries inflicted upon him, the fire giant regenerated, rising stronger than before.

Carol Danvers was the only other combatant capable of holding her ground. Her cosmic energy flared brightly, her blows powerful enough to stagger Surtur. But even with Jane Foster lending occasional bursts of lightning to recharge her strength, Carol was struggling to limit the fire giant's rampage.

Outside the city, Asgard's soldiers and civilians stood in stunned silence, watching their home succumb to destruction.

A statue of Bor, Odin's father, toppled with a resounding crash, shattering into countless fragments.

Loki, standing beside Frigga, glanced at the scene with a rare solemnity. "It doesn't matter," he said softly, his voice steady despite the chaos. "As long as the foundation remains, the city can be rebuilt. One day, this place will once again become the paradise envied by all."

His words barely settled when a brilliant rainbow of seven colors stretched across the sky. The light of the Bifrost connected Titan and Asgard, bridging the vast distance between the two realms.

Heimdall, his hands steady on the guardian sword, activated the mechanism, enveloping Surtur in the shimmering light. The fire giant, though lacking reason, thrashed violently, resisting the pull of the Bifrost.

Thor's voice rang out across the battlefield. "Heimdall, don't hold back. We must send him away!"

With a nod, Heimdall called upon the full power of the Bifrost. A second beam of light shot forth, reinforcing the first.

The combined strength of the Bifrost finally overcame Surtur's resistance. The fire giant roared in defiance as he was lifted into the air, his massive form turning into a streak of light as he was hurled toward Titan.

The barren landscape of Titan trembled as the air shimmered with the arrival of its unexpected visitor.

Surtur, transported across countless light-years, appeared in the skies above the planet. For the briefest of moments, he seemed confused, his massive form towering over the lifeless terrain.

But his purpose returned quickly. His flaming eyes turned upward as he raised the Twilight Sword high.

"I… am the end of Asgard!" he bellowed, oblivious to the fact that he was no longer in the realm he sought to destroy.

The Twilight Sword descended with devastating force, piercing Titan's surface and reaching the planet's core.

A muffled roar echoed through the planet's depths, and the ground began to tremble.

Flames erupted from the fissures, consuming everything in their path. The earth cracked and split apart, magma spilling into the open air.

Titan, once a proud world, succumbed to destruction as its surface was engulfed by fire. The planet trembled violently, its core destabilized by the Twilight Sword's immense power.

In mere moments, the entire planet was consumed by a cataclysmic explosion.

From light-years away, Thor turned to witness the destruction. The distant light of Titan's demise flared brilliantly, then faded into nothingness. The planet that had once been the heart of Thanos's empire was now reduced to scattered debris, drifting lifelessly in space.

Surtur, floating amidst the remnants of Titan, seemed lost. Without Asgard or its people to destroy, his purpose had vanished.

The fire giant, who had been the harbinger of Ragnarök, now drifted aimlessly in the void, his fiery form dimmed and his rage extinguished.
