James Brown had always been an early riser, and even on days when he felt like sleeping in, he would wake up on time and then take a little nap. That morning, upon waking up, he felt someone sitting beside him. Without opening his eyes, he stretched out an arm and pulled the person into his embrace, reckoning it must be Emma Campbell. He certainly didn't believe that the young girl Sarah Grandy could get out of bed that early.
The girl beside him immediately draped herself onto his chest, and James Brown quickly opened his eyes. His senses were very sharp, and aside from the twins, Gina Lopez and Emily Lopez, whom he found hard to tell apart, he generally had no trouble distinguishing others. As soon as he embraced her, he knew he held Charlotte in his arms.
He pushed Charlotte away and, slightly annoyed, said, "What are you doing up so early and not sleeping, coming here for what?"
