Lucy Campbell didn't notice at the time; she was simply focused on how much oil to pour into the pot. When James Brown stopped and put the oil bottle to the side, she didn't realize just how intimate their moment together had been.
As the oil in the pot started to smoke, Lucy Campbell gripped the cooking spoon tightly in her right hand and asked, "Can I add the celery into the pot now?"
James Brown replied, "Wait a moment, put it in when the oil really heats up."
"Okay, but when is it 'really heated up'? You'll remind me, right?" Lucy Campbell also picked up the dish containing the celery with her left hand, quite nervously at that.
Seeing how she was holding the dish up high, James Brown eventually stood behind Lucy Campbell and said, "Don't hold the dish so high; otherwise, when you pour it into the pot, the oil may splash out, and if it splashes onto your face, it could easily cause burns."
"Ah!" Lucy Campbell quickly lowered the dish and asked cautiously, "Is this okay now?"
