Chapter 9 - A Xavier school outing!

Months passed with Tavor continuing to use the Danger Room as a place where he could sate his natural Saiyan battle lust, managing to battle effectively against six of his clones.

Unknowingly, his battle power rose from a measly 3 to a battle power of 20, his small body growing thick with a set of muscles that defy what any child his age should have.

Jean and Scott were discussing this very thing inside Professor Xavier's office, concern etching shadows on their faces.

"Professor, I think we should perform a series of scans on Tavor. I'm concerned that there might be something wrong with his body." Jean spoke with a shaky voice, the thought of doing something so invasive on someone she considers her son bringing a mist of tears to her eyes.

Scott held her close before turning back to the Professor.

"Reluctantly, I agree. We have had to buy several new sets of clothes because he quite literally burst out of them!" Scott winced as he remembered the clothes he had spent his hard-earned money on being reduced to rags.

Professor Xavier's expression remained calm, but his powerful mind was anything but calm.

"Bring the boy to the infirmary; he is due for a checkup anyway. Let's hope it's merely part of his mutation." Professor Xavier's voice was calming, causing both Jean and Scott to relax somewhat.

Nearly half an hour later, Jean arrived carrying a Saiyan child who was luckily still in the midst of a food coma.

She arrived before the professor and Scott and gingerly placed Tavor on the table, taking extra care with his head and tail.

After setting Tavor down Jean nodded towards Professor Xavier to begin.

Professor Xavier began typing at a console, and after finishing a series of metal rings floated around the table and began glowing blue.

The glowing blue rings moved back and forth over Tavor's sleeping form, and at the same time, on a nearby screen, multiple scans appeared showing Tavor's body, from mere X-rays to physiological scans and everything in between.

What appeared on the screen shocked all within the room.

The scans showed not only that Tavor's muscles and bones were incredibly dense, but upon deeper scanning, they saw that every cell within Tavor's body was almost completely infused with a strange energy, an energy that neither Professor Xavier nor Jean could identify.

While Professor Xavier and Jean were focused on the strange energy permeating Tavor's cells, Scott was focused on the fact that little Tavor's body appeared to be stronger than even his own.

The sheer density of his bones and muscles surpassed most adults, even those who practically live in the gym.

Scott began to feel envy, looking at his own relatively thin frame.

"I need to go to the gym!" After thinking this Scott turned and left the infirmary, leaving Jean and Professor Xavier to their scientific inquiries.

Seeing this Professor Xavier and Jean looked at each other and smiled knowingly.

"I think the boy's body made him jealous, hehehe!" Jean giggled, her cheeks flushing, imagining a sweaty Scott.

Tavor's eyes began to roll inside his eyelids as he began to slowly return to consciousness.

His dark eyes opened to find a series of glowing blue rings moving over him, and he began to instinctively panic before his eyes found Jean and Professor Xavier.

"Momma Jean? Where am I? What is this?" Tavor asked a series of questions in his confusion!

"Sorry, Tavor, we were worried and decided to take some scans of your body to make sure that you were okay! You have grown rather swiftly after all!" she said, her green eyes softening as she spoke, her heart fluttering after he called her momma.

Tavor sat up and jumped off the padded, landing with a soft sound of bare feet on waxed concrete.

He rushed over, and jumped onto Jean, who caught him in her arms before he could fall.

She let out a warm giggle as she ruffled his spiky hair.

"Hey, Tavor? The school is having a trip into the city so some of the kids and teens can do some minor shopping. Would you like to come with us?" She asked while pinching his cheeks until it became a soft red.

"Ouch... Ouch... Mama Jean, stop pinching me, and yes, I'll go, it sounds fun!" He playfully struggled against her grip, which only caused Jean's soft pinches to intensify.

Several hours later, Tavor, along with several other human-passing mutant children, was inside black and yellow SUVs in a convoy driving out of the X-Mansion and deeper into the city proper.

Sitting next to Tavor was a young mutant girl named Kitty Pryde, and a large mountain of muscles Tavor learned was named Piotr, who also goes by Colossus due to the mutation that turns him into a living bulwark of moving metal.

The vehicles were nearing the Queens Place Mall, and the children inside the SUV began to become rowdy in their excitement, seeing all the merchandise visible in the mall's windows.

After the driver, a mutant named Logan or Wolverine with hair swept back into two wings and mutton chops on the side of his face, began the process of parking the doors that were previously locked tight clicked open and the kids rushed out, forcing Logan to rush after them after setting the parking brake.

"Hey stick together... if you get lost, your allowances for the next few months will go to my cigar budget!" Logan continued to chase several of the mutant children, leaving only Piotr, Kitty Pryde, and Tavor still in the SUV.

Piotr pressed his fingers lightly against his eyes. "Well, at least with Logan's incredible senses, we won't lose anyone on this trip!" Piotr pulled his fingers from his eyes and smiled at Tavor and Kitty. "Are you two ready? Let's go."

Stepping out of the vehicle, Piotr's massive build immediately drew attention from walking pedestrians, but when Tavor stepped out, a few women gasped in shock.

"Oh my god, look at those cheeks!" A woman with fair features struggled to resist the urge to rush up and poke Tavor's cheeks

"Check out that hair, he looks so cute..." A woman wearing a pantsuit and sporting a single long braid of hair gazed longingly at the spiky and thick hair Tavor possessed.

"Wait, look at those arms... are those muscles?" A short woman wearing tight-fitting gym clothes blushed intensely upon seeing Tavor's unnaturally muscular arms.

"So Cute!!!" Multiple women cried out at the same time while preparing to take a slew of pictures with their phones.

Piotr and Kitty walked hand in hand on both sides of Tavor, the contrast somehow only making his cuteness stand out more.

"Wow, these people are really nice..." Tavor thought as a brilliant smile adorned his face.

Upon entering the mall, Piotr guided both Kitty and Tavor towards a clothing store for young and growing children, where, upon seeing them enter, an employee with too much makeup suddenly appeared before them. "Hello, am I to assume you are here to buy clothes for the little cutey over here?" She pointed at Tavor, who replied with a vigorous nod of his head and a smile that made the employee's heart swell.

"Ahem... follow me, please." After regaining her composure somewhat, she walked towards the boys' section and began showing off merchandise that she thought would look fabulous on little Tavor.

Tavor found himself draped in multitudes of clothing ranging from child-sized muscle shirts that somehow made him look even more muscular to puffy coats that only exacerbated his general cuteness.

By the time the shopping spree ended, Piotr was carrying enough bags to completely cover his massive arms; Kitty herself had a bunch of bags, but not nearly as many, as she was quite physically weak compared to Piotr, and neither of them wanted to be the one to have a small child like Tavor carry the burdens.

However, shortly after exiting the store, Tavor turned his head towards the other side of the mall, and for some reason his blood began to boil, his fighting instincts igniting.

"This seems like fun!" Tavor thought as he turned on his heel and disappeared into the crowd of people still shopping.

Piotr turned his head towards where Tavor was with a smile, but soon noticed that the child was nowhere to be seen, his smile turning into a muted gasp. "Tavor... Where is Tavor? Kitty, did you see where he went?"

Kitty turned her head towards the now empty space where Tavor once occupied, her face turning a soft shade of blue. "N... No, oh god, Jean is going to be so mad that we lost him!" She calmed somewhat and turned towards Piotr before she whispered. "Send a message to Logan; he should be able to find him really quick!"

While Piotr and Kitty were panicking, Tavor himself was nearing a particularly loud side of the mall with crowds of shoppers and pedestrians all running the other way.

BANG... BANG...

BRAAAAATT... BRAAAAAT...

"Put the money in the bag NOW!" A gruff voice, along with the blaring sound of gunshots, caused Tavor's ears to twitch.

CRASH... BANG... BANG...

A crashing noise followed by sounds akin to thunder echoed in the air, the excitement causing Tavor's tail, which was wrapped around his waist like a belt, to vibrate in exhilaration so palpable that Tavor struggled to keep it wrapped around his waist.

From the bank branch on the right side of the mall came the sound of chaos, with shards of glass scattered outside from ricocheting bullets and slugs. Several shadowy figures stood armed with pistols, rifles, and shotguns, while one man, dual-wielding submachine guns, barked orders at both the robbers and the bank employees.

"Move it, damn it! Put the money in the bags, or these walls are getting a fresh coat of blood and brain-colored paint!" The man fired a burst over the head of the lead banker, the shock making the poor guy suddenly sport a dark stain on his pants.

Tavor strolled through the front door, slipping right past two lookouts who barely glanced at what they thought was just a kid. But as he walked on without hesitation, they stared after him in awkward surprise, exchanging glances and eyeing their weapons, wondering if they simply weren't intimidating or if the kid was just plain foolish.

"Hey kid, what do you think you are doing? GET OUT OF HERE, or we will blast you!" One of them attempted to nudge the back of Tavor's head with the barrel of his gun, but before the barrel could connect, Tavor disappeared.

POW!!

Tavor materialized in midair beside the gunman, unleashing a powerful spinning kick to the side of his neck that sent the man hurtling through one of the shattered windows like a twisting corkscrew, before crashing outside and landing in an unconscious heap.

The other gunman was shocked for a second, seeing that his lookout partner was so easily dealt with, but his shock only lasted a second before he raised the barrel of his rifle towards Tavor.

"YOU LITTLE SHIT!"

BLAAAT!!!

BLAAAT!!!

BLAAAT!!!

The robber lookout fired off three rapid bursts at Tavor, but the young Saiyan evaded them with incredible agility, springing onto the door frame before launching into a flawless backflip.

He came down squarely atop the robber's head, a move executed with such precision and flair that it radiated pure defiance and unmistakable disrespect.

"YOU... YOU... YOU..." Before the robber could collect his thoughts to curse at Tavor, the young Saiyan lifted one foot and stomped down, sending the robber crashing head-first into the linoleum floor.

CRACK!!!

The impact shattered the linoleum and the robber's fragile ego, and Tavor stepped off his head with a flourish that somehow made him look even more adorable than before.

The remaining robbers froze for only a heartbeat.

Then panic gave way to rage.

"What the hell is that kid?!"

"Kill him!"

Three rifles snapped toward Tavor at once.

The young Saiyan tilted his head.

"So loud..."

The first robber pulled the trigger.

BLAM! BLAM! BLAM!

The instant the muzzle flashed, Tavor vanished.

The barrage chewed through the lobby behind him, pulverizing marble columns and showering the floor with chunks of stone.

A blur shot between the robbers.

POW!

One man's jaw folded sideways as Tavor's tiny fist buried itself in his cheek.

The robber spun like a top before crashing through a row of plastic waiting chairs.

Another swung the stock of his shotgun toward Tavor.

The young Saiyan ducked beneath it instinctively.

"Hup!"

He grabbed the shotgun with both hands.

The robber laughed.

"Kid, you think you're stronger than m..."

CRACK!

Tavor accidentally twisted the weapon completely in half.

The robber stared blankly at the pretzel-shaped firearm.

"...my gun."

Tavor blinked.

"Oops."

Still holding both halves, he bonked the robber on the forehead.

BONK!

The massive criminal collapsed instantly.

"...Neat."

Another pair of robbers rushed him from opposite sides, one wielding a sawn-off shotgun and the other with a pair of cheap Glocks

"YOU LITTLE BASTARD!!"

"DIE YOU LITTLE SHIT!!"

Tavor ducked beneath the man holding the shotgun with his leg extending towards his trigger finger, and when it connected with the man and his shotgun, he was forced to raise it towards his companion and fire.

BLAAMMM!

The robber, clutching his two pistols, suddenly realized a gaping void had replaced his abdomen, and with trembling legs, he collapsed to his knees.

Desperately, he tried to stem the torrent of blood with shaking hands, fighting in vain against the inevitability of his mortal wound.

"S... SHIT!" He stuttered in his agony before falling backwards, never to rise again, his blood staining the linoleum crimson.

Still crouched beneath the sawn-off shotgun-wielding robber, Tavor suddenly reared back and unleashed a ferocious uppercut straight between the man's legs, the crushing impact sending a shockwave of agony through his body.

The overwhelming pain was so intense that the robber collapsed backward in utter silence, his consciousness snuffed out in an instant.

Across the lobby, terrified bank employees peeked over overturned desks; one elderly woman slowly lowered the emergency phone she'd been clutching.

"...Is... is that child protecting us?"

Another employee nodded numbly.

"I... I think so."

Only one man remained standing.

The leader, the one carrying twin submachine guns.

Unlike the others, he wasn't yelling; he wasn't panicking.

He was watching.

Coldly.

Calculating.

His eyes narrowed.

"Fast..."

His fingers tightened around the triggers.

"But not that fast."

Tavor smiled brightly.

"You're the strongest one!"

The robber boss answered by opening fire.

BRAAAAAAT!!

BRAAAAAAT!!

Twin streams of bullets erupted from both weapons, the hallway instantly became a storm of flashing muzzle fire, and Tavor's pupils shrank.

Fast.

Too fast.

He leaped left.

Bullets tore through the space he'd occupied.

He rolled.

More rounds chased him across the marble floor.

Unlike the rifles...

Unlike the pistols...

This wasn't a handful of shots.

It was a wall of metal.

Tavor dodged one burst.

Then another.

Then a third.

His instincts screamed.

Move!

Move!

MOVE!

A burning sensation crawled up his spine.

His body twisted, but even his agility was not enough.

Several bullets were already racing toward his chest.

His eyes widened.

For the first time since entering the bank...

He couldn't avoid them.

Then...

A blur of yellow and brown exploded from the shattered entrance.

"Kid!"

SNIKT!

Six gleaming adamantium claws burst from between clenched fists.

Logan threw himself directly between Tavor and the torrent of gunfire.

BRAAAAAAT!!

THUNK!

THUNK!

THUNK!

Bullets buried themselves into Logan's shoulders, his chest, and his abdomen.

Blood sprayed across the marble floor.

Others struck bone with metallic pings as they ricocheted from the adamantium fused to his skeleton.

PING!

PING!

PING!

One deflected slug spun wildly through the air.

SCHLICK!

"AAGH!!"

The robber boss screamed as the ricochet buried itself deep into his thigh; he stumbled backward, one submachine gun slipping from nerveless fingers as blood poured down his leg.

Logan slowly straightened, smoke curling lazily from the fresh bullet holes peppering his body.

Tavor stared.

"...Mister Logan?"

The robber boss grinned through the pain.

"Idiot..."

Then his grin faded.

The bullet holes...

Were closing.

He blinked.

Blood stopped flowing.

Torn flesh knitted together before his very eyes.

Within seconds, the wounds had vanished entirely.

The flattened bullets dropped from Logan's body one after another, clinking harmlessly against the marble floor.

Clink.

Clink.

Clink.

Logan rolled one shoulder before cracking his neck.

"That all ya got, bub?"

The robber boss's face drained of every trace of color.

"N... no..."

His hands began trembling uncontrollably.

"That's... that's not possible..."

Wolverine lunged forward in a blur of gleaming adamantium claws, skewering the robber leader before he had a chance to react.

"AAAAAHHHHH..." Wolverine hoisted the robber off his feet and into the air, then retracted his claws with a wet, tearing sound. The man collapsed to the ground, dying almost instantly.
