Bezal followed after Henry.
Before long, the blazing fire died down. What remained of the shopping district was a pile of rubble.
Drenched from head to toe, Henry and Bezal earnestly searched for any trace of Octavia.
They ignored the firefighters when asked what they were looking for.
"It doesn't matter what or who you're looking for. Everything has turned to ash," said one of the firefighters.
"Get lost!" Henry bellowed.
The firefighter was taken aback. He uttered, "S-Sir, I-I've fought many fires. For a fire of t-this scale, t-there's no way anyone survived."
Henry's mind blanked out as his heart sank. He felt as if someone had shattered his heart into a million pieces.
Given Henry's character, he wouldn't have batted an eyelid even if someone died in front of him.
However, Octavia was different.
In the past, Henry was confident he would never have affection for children, including his own.
