Charlotte touched Flora's head.
The latter was so skinny that even her head was small.
"Flora, you won't die. You still have a lot of cakes and pork ribs to eat. You'll go to kindergarten and make friends. You'll grow up in a happy family and have a happy family of your own in the future. Then, you'll give birth to a baby that's as cute and sensible as you are, and-"
Charlotte paused midsentence as she saw the confusion in Flora's eyes.
She added, "Anyway, you'll live happily and grow up to be a happy-go-lucky woman like me."
Flora's breathing became shallow. After a moment, she suddenly reached out and patted Charlotte on the arm.
Sensing Charlotte's skin on her hand, Flora buried her face in Charlotte's arms. "Ms. Johnson, I keep feeling like everything here is a dream. I'm afraid everything will be gone when I open my eyes again."
