Creed reached the entrance, his footsteps steady, his face calm, but his mind was already preparing for trouble.
Standing before him were the five guards, their eyes sharp and assessing, their expressions unreadable.
One of them, a tall, burly man with a scar running from his forehead down to his cheek, took a single step forward and crossed his arms.
His voice was gruff, carrying the weight of someone who had spent years in the business of making people disappear.
"State your business."
Creed didn't flinch. He simply reached into his pocket, pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper, and held it up.
"I'm here to pay my debt," he said calmly.
The guard eyed him for a moment before taking the paper and glancing at it.
It was the last notification letter Alfonzo's people had sent him; a very polite way of saying, Pay up, or bad things will happen.
