A knock was echoed through the room, disturbing the little moment of peace that I had.
I didn't move my head from Kaene's shoulder, hoping that whoever it was would just go away and let us be. But the knock came again, louder this time, almost impatient.
A maid or a guard wouldn't knock like that and Kaene knew that too as he sighed wearily, releasing my hand from his grip before he stood up to open the door.
I sat up, rubbing my temples as I felt a headache. I ignored it as I watched Kaene open the door.
