"Then what's the use of being a vampire count if you don't know these things." Snow asked.
********
Hunter sat down on the floor with a wry expression on his face. They just kept arguing and it started to bore him so he said. "Enough about the arguing" he stopped to stare at them. They both kept quiet. "Tell me what I did wrong" he continued after he was sure he got their attention.
Snow started" You have the darkness ability". "So".
"You cannot have the darkness ability because only a count can have the ability".
"So that means she's a vampire count". Snow nodded. "And you're also a vampire count . . . I mean heir, right" she nodded again.
"What is a vampire count again. Not sure if you guys told me before an if you did I would have forgotten". He asked again.
"Don't worry about it, what you are supposed to worry about is that you have the darkness ability". Violet answered.
He shrugged. "What's there to worry about, you have the time ability and you are a count". He was still persistent.
"Our clan's ability can change every generation". Snow answered that one.
Hunter just shrugged and kept quiet. He decided to not speak again since he knew nothing about the matter and just became a newly turned vampire. What was he expecting to know. He had no say in this conversation. He closed his eyes and he could not help but think about snow's blood. His previous life that ended only a few hours ago and his new vampire life. As he was thinking he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Why are you laughing" violet asked when she saw the smug look on his face.
"Oh . . . its noth . . ." he suddenly had an idea. "Hey wait a second, I have an idea". They looked at him with expectant gazes. It was crazy how they readily accepted him. "You said your vampire counts ability can change every generation right". They nodded. "Well just say am your child violet. From my guessing you have been in the human world for years right. Something is bound to happen".
"It could work that way, but you blood smells different from ours. It wouldn't work". She said that last part shaking her head.
"Wait you can smell blood". Hunter asked in terror.
"Yeah, but if he drinks my blood it would masks the scent of his". She said and immediately made a cut on her arm using her finger nails. She let the blood flow into a wineglass he had no kDa where it came from.
She handed him the cup. Hunter stared at the blood inside the wineglass and a sweet aroma wafted into his nostrils. He was sure it would be tasty.' Wait why would it be tasty'
He looked at snow to see if she was alright with what he was about to do and the look in her eyes assured him to go on.
He was just about to drink it when" Wait a sec, I've already drank snow's blood. Why didn't it mask my scent?"
They had overlooked this possibility.
"Well you are her husband, the blood you drink is just to satisfy your hunger. It does not flow through your veins it just gets absorbed immediately. But as for mine its a different case entirely and my blood will run through your veins for a while before being absorbed." She gave him an answer. She was that knowledgeable at least.
He brought the glass to his lips and gulped. In less than three seconds, he had drank it finish. He looked at them, they stared at him too. 'Like do vampires like do stare at somebody or was it just me'.
"Why are you guys staring at me". Hunter asked surprisingly.
Snow sighed and looked at her mother. Violet had a contemplating look on her face. "It masks his smell, but not thoroughly". "It would do for now, until we find a better solution".
Hunter nodded and made to stand up but he disappeared in a flash of purple light.
"Where is he mother" snow asked with a tired voice. Violet shrugged" I don't know, I didn't do that". Before snow could say anything else, Hunter reappeared again. This he turned to them and shouted. "What was that man!?"
Violet once more shrugged and snow gave no answer. "I was suddenly on the roof . . . what happened". Hunter asked .
"You teleported" snow answered him.
"How, vampires have multiple powers".
"Yes, but not usually" violet replied.
"No this shouldn't make sense . . . how can he have two vampire count abilities at the same time" snow asked.
"I don't know" violet simply replied be for sitting down on a chair they did not know come from.
"You are taking this way too easily mother".
"How do you want me to take it. You did the ritual, it worked. You should be happy for that instead of trying to whisk him off to the vampire realm immediately he is turned".
"So what should we do" snow asked.
"I suggest we stay . . . get to know him. After all he is your husband, get to know each other before responsibility takes him from you".
Immediately she finished talking she disappeared In a small flash of purple light and also took her chair with her. Snow sighed before turning to look at hunter. He had a confused expression on his face. It was then that she realized he knew nothing about what they were getting into.
"Let's go" snow said softly and held Hunter's Hans as they went back up into the mansion. As they went to snow's room, he saw several other femaks and could not resist asking. "Are they also . . . vampires" he gulped in between asking the question.
"Yes they are"
"Are they you sisters or . . ."
"No, they are my servants"
"You mean you turned each of them"
"Yes" she nodded.
"What would have happened to me if things hadn't gone the way it went". Hunter asked warily.
"You would have either been my slave or you have been a corpse lying in its own pool of blood by now". She answered in a light tone that made shivers run down his spine. The wag she casually said it made his pupils shrink. She must've done things like this many of times. But he continued to asked.
"How many people have you turned"
"About seventy there female attempts but only thirty nine survived and I think only twenty one males but only you survived " She turned to look at him. "Your potential made you my husband and your stubbornness not to die got you here". She ended it like that.
Hunter gulped and was suddenly grateful for his life. Who knows what would have happened if things hadn't gone the way it did. He would probably have been a corpse in his own pool of blood and a white haired vampire looking at his dead body with disappointment.
Come to think of it, if he had died he would have blamed it on his cousins and his uncle. He would have probably hunted them soon after that. Thinking about these things made his think about his life, as a vampire, he guessed he couldn't have gone back to his normal life. Ahh!! His university life, he was already at his last semester and writing his final exams.
'Guess I have to forget about Marie too' hunter thought as snow continued to pull him by the hand.
Marie, one of the girls he had been fantasizing about. He had tried everything within his power and it seemed to be going well. She was just warming up to him.
"It couldn't have happened at a better time" he muttered and grumbled those words beneath his breath.
"Huh, what couldn't have happened at a better time" snow turned her face at once and asked.
