That battle showed that even the universe needed help—that cosmic beings are eternal, but they are weak when threatened.
Human lives were laid down so they could keep on living.
At the harrowing moments of the Great War, moments before the Chaos Dragon shattered his soul and used it to call forth the 14 Doom Legion, he first gazed into the cosmos and smiled.
At that moment, the Enchantress, the watcher of the timeline, saw what could have been, and for a moment, two teardrops fell from her eyes—one from the left eye and the other from the right.
As the watcher of the timeline, she saw what could have been and what is, and that broke her heart. For a cosmic being tasked with watching, that sight moved her, so she cried.
