Isabelle's POV
He took a step closer.
The air between us thickened—slow, heavy, electric. Like the moment before a storm breaks. My chest tightened, my pulse stuttering wildly beneath my skin as he neared me, eyes locked on mine, the heat of his bare chest radiating into the small space between us.
And just when I thought he might actually touch me.
Logan turned away.
Without a word, he strode across the room and pressed a discreet button on the wall. I blinked, startled, as a quiet mechanical hum filled the space. Panels in the marble floor retracted with a smooth, hydraulic glide, revealing the last thing I expected.
A swimming pool.
Right there, in the middle of the suite. Long, rectangular, illuminated from below with soft blue lights that shimmered like stars underwater.
He looked at me over his shoulder, that familiar hint of a smirk tugging at his lips. "Care for a swim? After the journey?"
