"My lord!" Kevin, the guard, opened his mouth to speak again after a long moment of silence, standing beside Vazer, who stared forward but didn't speak.
"Would you like me to resend the letter to Lord Cain?" he asked, feeling he had no choice but to inquire, especially after Vazer suddenly became silent without uttering a single word.
He was surprised to get a response as Vazer immediately shook his head at him without turning to look at him.
"No!" Vazer responded, his voice still as cold as ice and as hard as steel. "Cain already gave his response!" he said, his fists balled together by his sides as he continued to stare at the coffins in the ground.
He and Cain were simply partners, but Vazer had expected that, seeing the letter he sent, Cain would respond and show up for him when it mattered the most—only to be completely ignored.
