The car had just driven off when Uva heaved a huge sigh of relief, raising her hands to wipe the sweat dotted across her forehead. Violet held back the smile that threatened to flash across her face.
"Are you okay?" Violet asked, noting the way Uva folded her hands together. Her shoulders no longer subtly trembled, but deep in her eyes, there was still a wariness as she leaned further into her seat.
Instead of answering Violet's question, Uva simply dug her hand into her pocket and carefully brought out the vial they had been given, filled to the brim with a dark, pitch-black liquid.
"I could try and experiment on it first!" Uva mumbled to herself, frowning as she realized it would take too long. It didn't help that time wasn't on their side.
"She—from her voice, she seems trustworthy!" Violet pointed out. She hadn't seen who was speaking, but the voice was enough for her to judge the speaker as a cool and gentle person.
