Gin woke up late in the morning. As he got up and went downstairs. Everyone looked at his teammates with an annoying smirk playing on their faces while team 7 looked at me with something of new admiration. The teacher was looking at me like this was expected or something, except for kakashi, who was nose deep in his book, looking at all this with a side eye.
AN: I just realized I said Satsuki yesterday and not nami. It was nami.
"What?" Gin said
"Nothing, just looking at the hero who saved our town," Tazuna replied.
"Oh, you found the present. I already took our pay so the rest of the money can be used for the development of the village. I hope you know finances," Gin said in a passive voice as he looked at his teammates and said,, "There is no longer any threat, so we can get going today."
"Awww…Come on, we are throwing you a party tonight. Can't you stay some more?" Tasuna asked
"No, I think I am done here. I want to go home and eat some ramen" Gin said as he was about to go upstairs when he spotted Inari in the corner of his eye as he walked past him. He placed a hand on his head as Gin said, "The world is cruel, Inari. No one's denying that. But that's exactly why you have to stand up. Strength isn't about never being afraid—it's about moving forward despite the fear. Death comes to everyone at some point in their lives, but the lives you have led until then is what gives lives meaning. The people that are left behind should carry on the hopes, ambitions, and wills of the dead to bring even a bigger meaning in their lives. Don't waste your life in fear, hatred, and despair. Raise above them, you only get to have one of life."
Gin walked away, leaving the room as Inari let out silent tears and said, "I am sorry. I let you down again". Before going into his room, his team just nodded at that and continued with their lives. Kakashi looked at the spot where he stood and thought ' He sure is a Pessimistic Idealist, but he is also grounded to earth and can see the world for what it is. I don't even know how to describe his personality anymore…maybe it's better this way' Before going back to his reading.
'I should apologize to Gin-kun' Nami thought before shaking her head. 'He is the one who doesn't care for his safety; he is the one who doesn't understand the pain it causes to those around him if he puts himself in danger like this. It is not my fault, it is his,' She thought.
Kushina seems to notice this and files it for later while Haruto sleeps through it all, followed by naruto who looked inspired more than ever. 'I will become the hokage and bring peace to this world' He thought. As he headed out to train, until the evening where they all decided to leave.
{In the evening}
"You can stay for a while, you know?" Tazuna offered, but Kushina just shook her head. To which Tazuna just sighed and tried to give a envelope "Here money for you travels, we have plenty take some"
"No need. I took the money for the mission and a big fast bounce for both our teams. So it ok" Gin said
"But I insist," Tazuna said, shoving the envelope in his hands while the villager also put envelopes of letters and money in each of our hands. 'I forgot this is an Asian world where rejecting money is near impossible. Maybe that should be my dream. A world where I can reject money and pay for the bill myself.' Gin thought as they waved goodbye. Inari started crying and clung to Gin's torso.
"Let go of making it wet," Gin said, but Inari just started to cry more as Gin knelt and said, "Come on, Inari, remember what I said. Everyone's life is temporary, but the value and meaning they part you with makes it a worthy life. Plus, I am only going to Konoha. You can visit my house anytime you want."
Inari finally stopped crying, and the Konoha team got a move on to their home. Gin avoided Nami the entire way, as he always got faster when he was near her. 'She reminds me too much of her, I can't deal with that bullshit all over again' Gin thought while Nami who noticed this was hurt as you could hear her heart shattered into a million pieces.
Naruto, Haruto, and Sai were oblivious to this as Sai continued his way while Haruto was challenging Naruto and Gin. "Let's see who has the most letters, I bet I have the most."
"You wish, I clearly have the bigger pile oni chan" Naruto said. Meanwhile Kakashi ignored this while looking at the drama 'Hehehe…' he thought. Meanwhile Kushina and Nami fall back a little, as they had a mother-daughter talk.
"You mind telling me what happened?" Kushina asked
"Wh–What d-do y-you mean?" Nami said in a high voice. Meanwhile, Kushina, with an all-knowing smile that hid a smirk, said
"You know, your dad and I were childhood lovers. I know a thing or two about love, and this is not normal for either of you. So you tell me or I ask him myself?" Kushina said
"Alright, don't tell him, though," Nami said and proceeded to explain the entire ordeal to her about the conversation to Kushina while she maintained a poker face throughout. "And that's it. Who do you think is wrong here? It is him, right?" Nami asked. Kushina shook her head and said
"There is no right or wrong in a relationship, there are only 2 perspectives. Take your dad and me. Do you think I was ok when I heard that he alone went against the entire Iwagakure army? I was not; I was worried sick for him, but all I did was just make him promise me that he would come back alive. It is his dream and duty to protect Konoha, and as his girlfriend at that time, it is not my place to become an obstruction to it. Even if he gets hurt, all I can do is to make sure he has an anchor so he fights even more."
