Chapter 5 - Mino Riola

While John was having breakfast in one of the coffee shops in London, his mobile phone rang all of a sudden.

John grabbed his mobile phone and saw a strange number calling him.

He answered the call and said, "Hello."

"Hello, little John This is Mino Raiola. Steve told me that you want to meet me." John heard the other party saying to him.

John smiled when he heard this and said, "Yes, Mr. Riola, thank you for calling."

Riola laughed loudly on the phone and said, "Little John, stop being too formal with me. Your brother is my sworn brother, and that makes you my little brother."

John smiled softly when he heard this and said, "Alright, Mino, are you in London now?"

"Yes, I am." Riola replied to John.

John nodded his head in satisfaction and said to Riola, "Right now I'm having breakfast at White Coffee Cafe. How about we meet in this cafe?"

Riola nodded and said to John, "That's fine with me. I will see you shortly."

John then hung up the phone and continued having his breakfast.

After 30 minutes

A fat man parked his Ferrari in the parking slot next to the White Coffee Cafe.

He then stepped out of his car and started walking towards John's table after locking his car.

John noticed the fat man was wearing blue jeans, a gray shirt, black boots, and sunglasses.

The man stood in front of John folded his arms on his chest and smiled widely. He then said to John, "We finally meet, little John."

John raised his eyebrows when he heard what the fat man said to him, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Mino, is that you? You look like a gangster."

Riola burst out in laughter when he heard this. He took a seat, grabbed a piece of bread from John's plate, and started eating.

He then said to John, "You know you are the second person who said that I look like a gangster; the first person was Ibrahimovic."

John chuckled when he heard this and started sipping on his coffee.

Riola then asked John, "So why did you want to meet me, little John?"

John smiled and answered, "First, to get to know you; second, to understand what the agent role is because I don't have much understanding about football agents; and lastly, to ask you for your help as my new agent."

Riola smiled and nodded his head. He then started explaining, "I will make it simple for you, John. The agent's main responsibility is dealing with all their clients' off-the-pitch matters, such as career planning, financial planning, negotiating, being the spokesperson for the clients, explaining the benefits of a contract to the client, protecting the image of the client, promoting the client's image, and many more."

John nodded his head in satisfaction and said to Riola, "Alright, Mino, I will ask my brother to sign a contract with you on my behalf."

Riola smiled and nodded his head, and then John continued, "Now let's get down to business. I need your help in buying me a tri-level house in London. Try and negotiate the price of the house and get it as low as you can."

Riola nodded his head and started writing down the task that John entrusted to him in his notebook.

John then continued saying, "The house needs to have a swimming pool and backyard. I want you to transform the backyard into a football pitch so I can train there whenever I want."

Riola nodded and continued writing John's instructions down.

John then continued and said to Riola, "I want you to transform the second level of the house into a gym and equip the gym with the latest equipment."

Riola nodded, and he continued writing down John's instructions.

"Also, don't forget to furnish the house. I will leave what kind of furniture to you." John said after thinking.

Riola nodded his head in understanding.

"Also, I want you to recruit for me a fitness coach, nutritionist, football technical coach, chef, and housekeeper. It will be good if you can get them at a low price, but they must have a good amount of experience." John exclaimed to Riola.

Riola nodded and wrote down what John said.

"The last thing I want you to do for me is investigate the equity of the teams in EFL League Two, EFL League One, and EFL Championship." John said seriously to Riola.

Riola was confused when he heard this and asked, "Are you planning to buy a club?"

John smirked, took a sip, and said, "Why not? I want to create a miracle, and I need your help, Mino, to do that. I promise I will not treat you badly, Mino. Are you in or out?"

Riola was taken aback by the gleam in John's eyes. He smirked and said, "I will not give you an answer now, John; maybe later after I witness how serious you are."

John nodded in agreement, and then the two chatted and got to know each other.

After half an hour, Riola bid farewell and left the cafe.
