Yu Bing have been streak out daily at the rooftop. The men from Yamen cannot understand why Bing'er is hanging out near the jail cell when the security is tight. No one goes in there unessarry unless with written permission. So far there is no special permission given. In two weeks time, if they get no answer from those prisoners, they are to be hand over to Xing Bu Bureau, Time is precious now. So Hu Li asked the two rats to go back into the cells to get more news. Also identify who is the guard receiving the order from the stranger. They little ones get into the building fast and stay in there for a few days. Meanwhile Hu Li on the outside have been watching if any suspicious character going near the jail house so far there is none. She even scan those baskets or carriages that is travelling pass that area. She begin to think if she is looking at the wrong place. Just then, he nose pick up a scent of something burning. She stand up on the rooftop and look at all sides. She spot smoke rising from the east. The palace is on fire.
"Fire!!!" She point to the east. The men who are hiding nearby all rush to the center of the street. They smell something but see nothing they listen to Yu Bing and run towards the direction. While the guards are standing outside the cell are trying to stay calm and guard the place. While Hu Li stand on the rooftop watching the smoke, she sense that something is not right but what is it? She look around to see people running towards the eastern palace. In a distance she see a person standing on the rooftop just like her. They stare at each other, Hu Li slowly reach for her bells in her hidden pocket. She put it on and the stranger starts to run. Hu Li begin to chase. Officer Zhou who heard about the fire rush to the jail cell area. He see Hu LI running off on the rooftop. He follow her on ground.
Hu Li keep her eye on the stranger who is running. That person have to be human for the speed is not that fast and not able to leap properly over big gaps. She hurry to ring her bells when that person is taking a minute to adjust before leaping. The sound cannot travel too far thus it is not working. Hu Li speed up and Officer Zhou is running till he is out of breath. He lean on the pole to catch his breath. He continue to run till he see a horse that one of his men is dragging back.
"Lend me!"
He hop on the horse and continue to chase. Hu Li is finally getting closer to the stranger. She make a big leap and landed on the same rooftop as the stranger. She still can't see the face as, the hoody is covering the face. For now she cannot tell if he or a she. That stranger have the hands roll into a fist and position to fight. At the ground, Officer Zhou stop his horse and look at to see that Yu Bing is going to engaged into a fight. He hurry to evacuate the people who are in the shop. His men come running to him in a distance. He yell at them to go assist Yu Bing. Meanwhile Yu Bing too have take position to fight. The bells in her hand is hold on tight. She gently ring it, the stranger feels that the feet is stuck to the tiles. Hu Li takes opportunity to attack by hitting the face. The stranger knows now that Hu Li is not someone who can be taken down easy thus he or she try to run again. That stranger is able to doge the incoming hits from Hu Li. The stranger also see that the men from Yamen are trying to get up on the rooftop. It's time to escape fast. The stranger takes out a small tube. Pull the string and throw it towards Hu Li. She doge it and chase after the stranger. The smoke bomb roll on to the ground that cause panic. Officer Zhou hops on his horse again to follow Yu Bing.
The chase landed outside the city and Officer Zhou is not able to follow as they leap over the tall walls. The nearest exit would be a round about in the busy street. Meanwhile Hu Li keep chasing without stopping. The stranger finds it strange that this Yamen guard have an unlimited stamina and those bells that is able stop his movements. Hu Li chase the stranger till a lake side. The stranger is tired and try to catch it breath. While Hu Li is still fine and stand where she is and looking at the hooded person.
"I will let you go, if you tell me, who you are. Why are you on the rooftop. What are you doing."
The hooded stranger remain silence.
"Stubborn brings you no where... I've got all day"
she emphasise the word 'all day' and sit down on the ground. The hooded stranger want to take advantage to run off however the sound of the bell have the feet stuck to the ground.
"Sit."
and she rings her bells. The stranger obediently sit down and they face each other. Hu Li slowly move up crawling up to the hooded stranger. The bells continue to rings as she move thus the stranger cannot do anything but to wait for this Yamen guard to remove his hoody and mask.
