"Dammit!" Evileye glared at Renner, who was giving her a strange smile, furious.
They, the Blue Roses, had been completely played by Renner.
In the past, Renner had been pretending, but now the real Renner had shown her true face.
"Maximize Magic! Fire..."
"Four Light Slash!"
Evileye's incantation was interrupted halfway by Brian Unglaus.
Brian's power was far beyond what it had been before; Tina and Tia couldn't stop Unglaus at all.
With one strike, the Four Light Slash hit Tia, Tina, and Gagaran all at once.
Lakyus, lacking her usual gear, saw her combat power greatly reduced, unable to reach the level of a hero.
Evileye was also slightly injured by the sudden attack. She had let her anger cloud her judgment and hadn't noticed Brian.
Evileye decided to abandon her attack on the princess and focus on Brian first. After defeating Brian, they would escape using their legs, not relying on magical teleportation.
"You all go first, I'll hold off Brian!" Evileye said to the rest of Blue Roses.
"But..."
"Alright!"
Lakyus and the others were about to jump out of another window, but they ran into an invisible barrier.
"What's going on?" Gagaran asked.
"Is this a barrier?" Lakyus recognized it.
Evileye's gaze shifted to Renner, whose hand was glowing with a magical array.
It was clear that this was also Renner's work.
"Gagaran, hold off Brian. Tia, Tina, let's team up and take down Renner first."
Gagaran used her body to block Brian directly, while Tia and Tina slipped into stealth mode.
However, Brian bypassed Gagaran and reached Renner.
He activated his domain.
Sensing danger, Tia and Tina immediately retreated, their forms becoming visible again.
"Maximize Magic: Penetrating Spear!"
A magic-formed spear shot toward Brian, who stood in front of Renner.
"Secret Sword: Falling Tiger Flute!"
Brian slashed through the magical spear with a single strike.
"Shadow Bind!"
"Maximize Magic: Star Missile!"
Evileye simultaneously cast two spells with her hands.
Shadowy tendrils formed and wrapped around Brian's legs!
Two missiles arced around Brian, targeting Renner behind him.
Climb, seeing that Renner was in danger, pushed her aside and shielded her with his body.
One missile pierced through Climb's arm, and the other missile went through his shoulder.
Even so, the missiles continued their trajectory toward Renner.
At that moment, Brian threw his sword, and it pierced through both missiles, neutralizing them.
"Maximize Magic : Crystal Missile."
"Martial Art: Fortress!"
During his training, Brian had also learned defensive martial skills, including Fortress.
"Climb, are you alright?" Renner asked, her concern evident.
"I'm fine, Princess Renner!" Climb replied, though his face betrayed his discomfort.
"Drink this potion quickly! It's a healing potion."
Renner pulled out a green potion. Its appearance, however, didn't resemble a typical healing potion.
Still, Climb trusted Renner implicitly.
He downed the potion in one gulp. His injuries began to heal, and he felt a surge of strength coursing through his body.
With one hand behind her back, Renner continued casting healing magic.
The healing magic restored Climb's wounds, and the potion—actually a strengthening concoction Renner had created herself—doubled Climb's combat capabilities.
At this moment, soldiers who had heard Climb's shout arrived in the corridor, bursting into the room and surrounding the members of Blue Roses.
Brian, meanwhile, retrieved his sword.
"Maximize Magic : Crimson Fireball!"
A fireball launched, causing a massive explosion.
Evileye hadn't wanted to harm the soldiers, but now she had no choice. If she didn't attack them, they would harm her companions.
Many soldiers were killed on the spot by the explosion.
"Protect the princess! I'll handle him!" Brian shouted to the soldiers.
"I'll hold Brian back. You need to find a way to kill Renner! Without her gone, I can't use teleportation magic," Evileye called to her companions.
After Evileye finished speaking, the members of Blue Roses followed her instructions without hesitation.
The soldiers, not deaf either, heard Evileye's words and formed a tight protective circle around Renner in the center.
Gagaran charged forward, crashing through several soldiers in her path.
Brian, wanting to assist, found himself targeted by a barrage of crystal missiles.
Evileye stood in his way, blocking his path.
"Martial Art: Godspeed!"
Brian's body suddenly accelerated, his blade slashing swiftly toward Evileye.
"Magic Shield!"
A magical barrier materialized around Evileye, deflecting Brian's attack.
"Maximize Magic : Lightning!"
The lightning struck with blinding speed. Unable to evade, Brian braced himself and endured the attack head-on.
"Ability Boost!" Brian realized that his current strength was insufficient to break through Evileye's shield.
"Ultimate Ability Boost!"
"Maximize Magic : Crystal Missiles!"
Brian swiftly dodged all the missiles and charged toward Evileye. Evileye tried to create distance between them, but the indoor space offered her no room to maneuver.
"Shadow Bind!"
Shadows emerged beneath Brian's feet, but this time he easily evaded the trap.
"Martial Art: Talon Slash!"
In an instant, Brian unleashed a six-fold light strike, with every attack locked onto a single point.
This was something even Gazef could not achieve.
The Six-Fold Light Strike was originally meant to target six different opponents simultaneously, but Brian, with his unique skill, merged Tiger Drop and the Six-Fold Light Strike into a new technique: Talon Slash.
In a flash, Brian's blade struck Evileye's magical shield, shattering it instantly. His sword came down heavily on Evileye, but she shifted her body just in time to avoid a fatal blow.
"Damage Transfer!"
The damage Evileye received was significantly reduced.
Brian, however, seized the opportunity and pressed his attack, swinging his blade relentlessly at Evileye.
"How is this possible?! A mere human managed to break through my defenses," Evileye thought to herself.
She had always regarded Brian as just a slightly stronger version of Gagaran, someone who couldn't possibly pose a real threat to her. After all, Brian was human, and Evileye herself was a vampire.
But Brian had delivered a harsh lesson to her.
And the name of that lesson was:
"Never Underestimate Humans!"
Evileye was forced into a hasty retreat.
Her magic shield was a one-time-use ability and could not be reactivated for the rest of the day.
"Crystal Barricade!" A wall of crystal magic appeared in front of Brian.
Rather than waste time and energy breaking through, Brian simply went around to the other side of the wall. There was no need to brute force it, especially since his stamina was running low.
While Talon Slash was a devastatingly powerful technique, it consumed a tremendous amount of stamina, leaving Brian unable to use it again in his current condition.
Watching from the shadows, Peroroncino couldn't help but acknowledge Brian's exceptional strength. Without relying on external aids or restraints, Brian repeatedly shattered the perceived limits of the human race through sheer effort and determination.
It was worth noting that many of the powerful warriors from the Slane Theocracy owed much of their strength to relics left behind by the Six Great Gods.
