So Carl said,
"Good, Tess, you're being sensible too. Come to think of it, I haven't really complimented you before, sorry about that... Oh right, words alone aren't enough, take this five hundred and use it."
Saying this, Carl directly took out a wad of cash, intending to give it to Gladys.
"...Huh?" Gladys couldn't help but be stunned, "This much?"
"It's nothing," Carl said with a smile: "It's my responsibility as a father, and besides, how could I not be happy when my own daughter is so sensible? Now, take it."
Seeing Carl's too direct action made Gladys's mother frown immediately.
