They weren't even home yet when Ruirui ran up, arms open wide, ready to give Chen Jie a hug with her tiny hands.
Chen Jie laughed and asked Ruirui, "Did you miss your brother-in-law?"
"I did!"
"Really? You're not lying to your brother-in-law, are you?"
"If I lied, I'd be a puppy!"
Ruirui said confidently.
"Alright, I believe you."
Chen Jie said with a chuckle. As he looked up, he saw Su Yunjin standing at the door, having just finished some work. Her hair was slightly disheveled, and there were beads of sweat on her forehead. He raised his hand to wipe the sweat off her brow.
"Husband, you're back."
She spoke to her husband gently.
Chen Jie smiled and replied, "Yes."
"Why did you buy so many things again?"
"I went to town and saw things we needed at home, so I got some."
