Before class in the afternoon, Miao Zhe's phone mysteriously returned to the desk hole, just as it had before.
Although Miao Zhe found it odd, he knew that it must be the work of someone who was messing with him — whoever it was had returned his phone.
Unable to identify the culprit but relieved to have his phone back, Miao Zhe decided to let it go and be more cautious in the future to avoid giving anyone an opportunity.
He played with his phone while his deskmate, Pang Jiao, was chatting with Wang Yanyan.
"I always thought I was at least average-looking, ever since I was little, even when brain-dead boys called me ugly," Pang Jiao said, striking a pose with a small mirror in her hand.
"Seriously brain-dead," she added.
Miao Zhe glanced at her and thought to himself that she should have some self-awareness.
If Pang Jiao were just unattractive, Miao Zhe wouldn't have had any conflict with her nor would he have despised her — it wouldn't have affected him anyway.
