The footbath girl clearly didn't have a gun or any serious weapon. Otherwise, she wouldn't have to go through this whole act.
All this—just for food.
Su Chen wasn't afraid in the slightest.
The girl only had a knife, while Su Chen had a pistol, a Uzi submachine gun, and even a full knight's gear. The difference between them wasn't just a little—it was massive.
Sure enough, the footbath girl stood right in the middle of the road, using the exact same method as before.
She parked her RV sideways across the road, practically begging to be noticed.
Su Chen couldn't just run her over, right?
Although... he was honestly considering it.
Helpless, he brought his RV to a stop. What was coming had finally come.
When he opened the RV door and stepped out, the footbath girl's confidence wavered the moment she saw him.
A young, handsome guy—who wouldn't feel tempted?
She stood dumbly in the middle of the road.
Just a few minutes earlier, when she saw Su Chen's vehicle approaching, she had been thinking, Nice, another idiot coming to throw his life away.
But now? Her thoughts had changed—especially after seeing Su Chen's luxurious purple RV.
The girl, who was more materialistic than most, instantly realized: this guy had to be rich.
Her heart was racing. This wasn't like dealing with those greasy, middle-aged men at all.
"Big brother~ I haven't eaten in days. Could you spare a little something?" she cooed, reaching out to touch Su Chen's shoulder, her eyes full of fake charm.
Su Chen reacted quickly, immediately stepping back.
Disgust. That was all he felt.
He had been in school for years, surrounded by beautiful girls—pure ones, sexy ones, you name it.
Even walking down the street, good-looking women were everywhere.
The woman in front of him? Not only was she unattractive, but she was caked in heavy makeup.
Either she couldn't read his body language, or she just didn't care—she took things even further.
"Don't be shy, little brother. I won't hurt you."
"How about we team up? That way someone can take care of you," she said, with a tone that didn't quite match the seductive nonsense she'd fed to that greasy man earlier.
Her voice now sounded sincere, like she was pledging herself to a boyfriend.
But Su Chen wasn't moved. A guy like him—handsome, rich—what woman wouldn't want to cling to him?
Still, he had no intention of keeping her around. He didn't even want to talk.
He unzipped his bag.
The girl watched him eagerly, full of hope.
She was completely confident. She assumed he was reaching for some food.
Unable to hold herself back, she leaned over and pressed herself against his back.
"Get off me. Don't touch me."
Su Chen instantly drew his pistol, raising it at her without giving her a chance to react.
The footbath girl had assumed this man would take her in, give her a happy, safe life.
Looks like she overestimated her own charm—and underestimated his standards.
Terrified, her legs trembled beneath her.
"You... you're misunderstanding. Why the gun?"
She tried to sound calm, but her trembling voice gave her away.
Su Chen wasn't playing dumb anymore. He asked her directly:
"You've done this before, haven't you? How many people have you lured in?"
The girl thought he was accusing her of being a player, and her heart warmed again.
"No, no, no! You've got it wrong! I've only ever been like this with you."
"You're my one and only, I promise!"
Su Chen raised an eyebrow. That was... weird.
He didn't usually show much emotion, but now he couldn't help it—he smirked.
Seeing that smirk, the girl felt a chill run down her spine.
What did that mean? Was he dangerous? Had he already figured her out?
"Are you hiding something from me?"
Su Chen didn't want to humiliate her outright—but if she kept playing dumb, he wouldn't go easy.
The girl, thinking there was still hope, clung to him even more tightly.
"What do you mean? I really like you!"
Su Chen pushed her away.
"Fine. I'll tell you exactly what you've done."
"You've been hanging around this road, waiting for a reason."
"You seduce any man who passes by. And just when things are about to get physical—you stab them with that knife."
The footbath girl hadn't expected her dirty deeds to be laid bare like that.
Her face turned pale.
"H-how did you know...?"
Su Chen ignored her question and continued coldly.
"You just want to get something out of them, right? Food, safety—whatever you can get."
"And you're picky, too. You only go for the good-looking ones."
"You had your eye on me, didn't you?"
He said everything slowly and deliberately.
Honestly, he hadn't planned on confronting her so directly, but since she wouldn't back off, this was the only way.
People often think their actions are justified—until someone points them out.
Then, shame sets in.
The woman was no different. What she'd done wasn't noble, but at the end of the day, she just wanted to survive.
She didn't think much of it when she was doing it.
But hearing someone say it out loud? It broke her.
She snapped.
Like a madwoman, she lunged forward and bit Su Chen's hand.
No matter how much he tried to shake her off, she wouldn't let go.
"What the hell? Are you a dog or something?"
Su Chen pulled the trigger.
Bang!
She dropped to the ground, blood pooling beneath her—motionless.
This was the first time Su Chen had killed a woman. But he felt nothing.
He'd expected this outcome.
Before long, her corpse disappeared.
Su Chen didn't dwell on it. He just got back on the road.
He hadn't found any supplies today—it'd be a waste of a whole day otherwise.
He launched his drone, into the sky once again. With the drone around, no obstacle ahead could catch him off guard.
After driving for another ten or so minutes, Su Chen noticed something on his drone's screen:
A cluster of mystery boxes.
Big and small, there were over a dozen of them—what a haul!
But—
He immediately realized that the boxes were located in a large, abandoned factory.
The place was eerily quiet.
