Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: The Growth of the Offspring

After obtaining the information he needed, Fang Chang didn't linger in Whitewater City for long and quickly returned to the Star Dou Great Forest.

After nearly a year of relentless feeding, the first batch of nineteen spiderlings had all reached several hundred years of soul power.

A Man-faced Demon Spider with this level of soul power could already challenge ordinary thousand-year soul beasts, let alone the stronger Dark Scythe Demon Spiders and Dominator Demon Spiders.

Moreover, Fang Chang had divided these offspring into four teams from a young age, each centered around a Dominator Demon Spider, with three to four Dark Scythe Demon Spiders accompanying it.

This ensured that each Dark Scythe Demon Spider could benefit from the "Domination" skill of the Dominator Demon Spider, allowing them to unleash their combat potential more effectively.

Now, a single team like this could attempt to hunt soul beasts with four to five thousand years of soul power.

This time, Fang Chang brought them out for a trial, and the target of this trial was an eight-thousand-four-hundred-year soul beast—the Dragon Scorpion.

As a soul beast with a trace of dragon bloodline, this Dragon Scorpion, despite having only eight thousand years of soul power, was no weaker than most ten-thousand-year soul beasts.

Additionally, it possessed a terrifyingly potent venom. Most soul beasts would rather provoke a ten-thousand-year soul beast than mess with this creature.

Fortunately, Fang Chang and Xiao Bai's offspring all had the innate "Poison Resistance" skill, making them less vulnerable to its venom. This was why Fang Chang felt confident choosing it as the target for their trial.

"Stop here," Fang Chang transmitted to the nineteen offspring as they approached the Dragon Scorpion's territory.

They were neatly divided into four teams. One team had only four spiders but was the strongest individually, while the other three teams each had five.

When they were born, they were only the size of a palm. Now, their bodies had grown to about three meters long, with legs nearly five meters long, comparable in size to larger spider-type soul beasts like the Earth Demon Spider.

Upon hearing Fang Chang's command, they stopped one after another, quietly waiting behind him and Xiao Bai.

Xiao Bai couldn't help but feel a bit worried as she looked at the Dragon Scorpion, but glancing at Fang Chang beside her, she calmed down a little.

If things got dangerous, she and Fang Chang would step in to save them immediately.

"Alright," Fang Chang said, drawing the offspring's attention to the Dragon Scorpion, which was dozing under a giant tree.

They obediently assumed combat stances, ready to attack the Dragon Scorpion at any moment.

Although these spiderlings didn't have intelligence, they had been trained by Fang Chang from a young age and could understand his simple commands.

It was like a domesticated dog. Though not intelligent, it could understand some basic commands after training.

"First team, go!" Fang Chang tapped the ground in front of one team with his spider leg, and they immediately charged toward the Dragon Scorpion.

The Dragon Scorpion was about five meters long, with a venomous stinger half the length of its body. Its size was nearly twice that of the spiderlings.

But the spiderlings weren't afraid. They rushed forward to attack, with the four Dark Scythe Demon Spiders at the front simultaneously using "Death Scythe" to slash at the Dragon Scorpion.

Meanwhile, the Dominator Demon Spider at the back took the opportunity to spit a "Poison Web" at the Dragon Scorpion's stinger, restricting its attack.

Clang, clang, clang... Sparks flew as the spiderlings' attacks landed on the Dragon Scorpion, leaving deep gashes in its hard shell.

The Dragon Scorpion woke up with a roar, furious at the five weaklings daring to attack it. Just as it was about to counterattack, it found its stinger entangled in spider silk.

It swung its pincers forward, sending two of the Dark Scythe Demon Spiders flying, while its tail thrashed violently, trying to break free from the web.

After all, it was a soul beast with strength comparable to a ten-thousand-year soul beast. The web of a Dominator Demon Spider with only a few hundred years of soul power couldn't hold it for long. Within seconds, it broke free.

But in those few seconds, the remaining two Dark Scythe Demon Spiders launched another wave of attacks, leaving two more gashes on its body.

"First team, fall back. Second team, go!" Fang Chang transmitted his command while tapping the ground in front of the second team with his leg.

The five spiders of the first team immediately stopped their assault, turned around, and retreated at full speed.

The Dragon Scorpion wasn't about to let these little ones who dared to provoke it get away. It immediately gave chase.

But just as its attention was fully focused on the retreating spiders, it was attacked from the right front.

It turned to see another group of five identical spiderlings charging at it, with one already slashing at its body with its legs.

At the same time, another web entangled its legs, restricting its movement and forcing it to stop chasing the first team.

Before it could react, the second team's attack also ceased, and they retreated. As the Dragon Scorpion stood there in confusion, the third and fourth teams, totaling nine spiderlings, simultaneously attacked from both sides.

By now, the Dragon Scorpion was very close to Fang Chang and the others. The nine spiderlings reached it in the blink of an eye, launching a relentless assault.

The Dragon Scorpion roared, raising its two front pincers to clamp down on two of the spiderlings.

But at that moment, the two Dominator Demon Spiders in the teams spat webs, ensnaring its pincers and temporarily immobilizing them.

The Dragon Scorpion's body was soon covered in wounds, the pain causing it to thrash violently, sending the surrounding spiderlings flying.

However, as soon as the spiderlings landed, they turned and spat webs at the Dragon Scorpion. Nine webs landed on its body in quick succession, further restricting its movement.

Meanwhile, the first and second teams, which had retreated to regroup, charged forward again, continuing their assault.

The four teams alternated in this manner. When two teams were forced back, they would spit webs to restrict the Dragon Scorpion's movements while the other two teams attacked.

When those two teams were pushed back, they would regroup and spit webs, allowing the first two teams to resume their assault.

After two or three rounds of this, the Dragon Scorpion was too exhausted to deal with the seemingly endless onslaught of spiderlings. It collapsed to the ground, powerless.

At this point, the hungry spiderlings swarmed over it, each taking a bite through the Dragon Scorpion's already torn shell, devouring its flesh.

Soon, the once-mighty Dragon Scorpion was reduced to a pile of indigestible shell.

Through their combined strength and coordinated attacks, the nineteen spiderlings had managed to defeat a Dragon Scorpion comparable to a ten-thousand-year soul beast.

Seeing their performance, Fang Chang was very pleased, and Xiao Bai felt a sense of pride.

In less than a year, these spiderlings had already achieved such combat prowess. What would they be capable of given more time?

More importantly, they could now hunt on their own and even bring back food to contribute to Fang Chang and Xiao Bai, requiring little further effort from him.

Fang Chang's plans had taken a significant step forward. All he needed to do now was continue increasing the number of spiderlings, allowing them to support each other and create a positive cycle...

The unification of the Star Dou Great Forest was within reach!
