Chapter 132 - Chapter 63: The Akatsuki Arrive

Amid his maniacal laughter, Obito suddenly felt something strange in his hand.

"Only one eye?" he muttered, looking up to see Nagato with his left eye tightly shut, blood streaming down his face. His right eye, however, remained intact, the Rinnegan still beyond Obito's grasp.

"At the last moment, he used the recoil of Mokuton to slightly tilt his body, allowing his right eye to evade your attack," Zetsu explained, emerging beside Obito.

"Nagato!" Konan rushed to his side, her eyes filled with pain and concern as she supported the bleeding Nagato.

Nagato raised a trembling hand to stop Konan from taking further action.

"Konan, you must protect me from now on."

Konan froze, her eyes welling up with tears. "Nagato, Yahiko is already gone. You don't have to—"

"You must first protect yourself," Nagato interrupted firmly, "so that you can fulfill Yahiko's dream... our dream."

Konan hesitated, but Nagato's rare obstinance was evident.

"Don't worry about me, Konan." He smiled faintly. "A god cannot fail."

Obito sneered, watching the interaction. "Still putting on airs, huh?" he mocked, putting away the Rinnegan for now and retrieving a kunai.

"It seems that even with the cells of the First Hokage enhancing your abilities, you're still struggling against three Kage-level opponents from Kumogakure."

Glancing toward the ongoing battle, he continued, "If that's the case, I only need to repeat my previous strategy. Your other Rinnegan will be mine soon enough."

A ferocious gale surged as the Four-Tails unleashed a Tailed Beast Bomb, and Obito advanced on Nagato. Black Zetsu loomed nearby, ready to disrupt Nagato with Mokuton at any moment.

Damn it! Nagato thought, clenching his teeth. I'll have to use Shinra Tensei again! But if I do, the Chibaku Tensei on the other side will collapse, giving the Raikage another chance to launch a swift attack, and I'll end up in the same desperate situation.

Is there no other way out? Could I use the Preta Path to absorb the Tailed Beast Bomb?

Nagato raised his hands, bracing against the inky black sphere. Slowly, he began to absorb its chakra.

"You've chosen an even more foolish tactic," Obito taunted. "The Preta Path can't move while absorbing chakra, leaving you completely defenseless. This makes it all the easier to claim your other Rinnegan."

"Nagato!" Konan screamed as Obito's hand edged closer to his face, but she was restrained by Black Zetsu's Mokuton, unable to assist.

Just as Obito prepared to deactivate his Kamui for the final blow, a sudden burst of black flames ignited on his body.

Amaterasu!

If it burns me, I'm finished!

Obito quickly ceased his Kamui and evaded, letting the Rinnegan slip through his grasp. The flames of Amaterasu passed through him and ignited the trees behind him.

The attacks didn't stop there. Following the black flames, a swarm of clay creatures—parasites, white insects, rock bugs, spiders, and ants—rushed toward Obito like an otherworldly army, painting the battlefield white.

"Your ability is impressive," Deidara sneered, striding into the chaos. "But there must be a limit to how long you can phase through attacks. Fortunately, I have plenty of clay to test which will run out first: your stamina or my art."

Nagato had foreseen the danger posed by the Sharingan-controlled Four-Tails and instructed Konan to call for backup. Now, Akatsuki reinforcements had arrived. Following Deidara were Itachi, his face impassive, and Kisame, his expression conflicted.

Obito scowled. Another unforeseen development! Ever since this brat Deidara joined the Akatsuki, nothing has gone smoothly!

"Kisame, are you betraying me too?" Obito asked, trying to sow discord.

Kisame was silent for a moment before replying, "I've come to believe that Akatsuki's vision is the right path. It's you who has strayed."

"I've always considered you my most loyal subordinate, Kisame. I didn't expect you to be swayed so easily," Obito sighed, shaking his head.

Kisame unsheathed Samehada, letting his actions speak louder than words.

"Well then," Obito muttered, retreating, "until next time."

Konan hurled a barrage of explosive tags at him. "If he's going to use a space-time transfer, he must stop phasing briefly. If we keep attacking, he won't escape!"

Having fought Obito many times, Konan had meticulously documented his abilities. She understood Kamui well enough to devise countermeasures.

Deidara's clay army surged forward, while the Four-Tails, under Obito's control, moved to attack with its injured body.

"Leave the Tailed Beast to me. I'm good at dealing with them," Kisame declared, Samehada crackling with energy.

"Water Style: Great Exploding Water Shockwave!"

As Kisame turned the battlefield into an ocean, Itachi targeted Zetsu with a massive Fireball Jutsu, its heat scorching the air.

"Close your eyes, or you'll fall under genjutsu!" Black Zetsu warned White Zetsu. Unlike Black Zetsu, who was immune to genjutsu as Kaguya's will, White Zetsu wasn't so lucky.

It was a three-on-three battle, but Deidara's attention remained on Obito.

"Let's finish what we started last time."

With so many allies on his side, Deidara felt confident they could finally bring down the man who had always seemed untouchable.
