A knight, a symbol of honor amongst commoners and Nobles alike back in ancient times, they represented justice in an unjust society, even today as that symbol is no more, I have one person who will always be my knight.
And I remember it like it was yesterday.
I was in the United States with my Father for an international fencing competition, I still remember the intensive training he put me through when I was only 4 years old, and he always said it was to prepare me for the monsters that were out there.
From what father has told me when I was a little girl, I was descended from French royalty from my mother's side, while his side was Japanese descended from a samurai family, yet both sides of the family hated each other because they weren't who they wanted to marry, only my grandmother from my mother's side actually cared for my mother and father.
My grandmother was always there with me due to my parent's work schedule, and she always told me stories of heroes, where soldiers banded together with sword in hand as they faced the monsters that wished to destroy the world.
And at first I regarded them as nothing but fairytales, but boy was I completely wrong, and it was when I was fifteen when I had my first brush with the other side.
It was the aftermath of the fencing tournament in New York and I dominated the tournament due to my grandmother's training, I was alone exploring the city when I hear the sounds of swords clashing.
And what I saw was a massive red monster with horns fighting…ninjas?
"Hey you! You should t be he-!!" I hear one say before exploding in a burst of gore as a massive club was thrown hitting the girl as I stood there, frozen In sheer terror.
I watched as the ninjas gained ground at the loss of one of their own, yet the ogre looked right at me before picking up a nearby pick up truck and chucked it right at me.
'save me save me save me save me save me save me SAVE MEEEE!!!'
"Look out!!"(???)
I felt something human sized tackle me as I see a boy my age with pure white hair and Japanese features standing in front of me with only a tree branch in his hand as I look over and see the ninjas knocked down and they weren't moving.
"Come at me!!!" The boy said while in a fencing position, but I saw his arms, they were shivering, this boy, no this man was willing to die to protect someone he doesn't know.
I felt my heart beat faster the more I looked at him, the more I looked at him the only thing I could think of when I saw his form.
Knight.
The beast roared and charged in towards us as he tenses, poised to attack, but it got three meters away from us before ultimately being bisected my a woman in the same outfit as those ninjas, only she was older.
"Hold on…mo-?" The boy began before the woman karate chopped him from behind and said an incantation before looking at me.
"Nobody ordinary was supposed to get passed the taimanin barriers, but you managed to get through, and unintentionally dragging my son in with you." She began as I had millions of questions racing through my head.
"You might be descended from a slayer(Taimanin) family, what's your name?" The woman asked as I hesitated.
"M-my name is Mary Kinkakujou." I reply as I look at the white haired man sleeping on the woman's thighs, "you said that was your son? He doesn't look like you." I remark as she sighs, "he's adopted, I found him abandoned in an alleyway during the aftermath of my mission, and I couldn't leave the baby be, so I raised him.
"Will he remember…all this!"(mary)
"I used a memory modification spell, he won't remember any of this."(???)
I kept looking at him as my pulsed quickened, and I mutter something under my breath unknowingly, "you will be my knight."
"What was that?" The woman asked before getting up, "anyways my name is Mira Takahashi, and I'm an agent of the Taimanin organization American branch, and you Mary Antoine Kikakujou have potential, so…would you like to join our ranks?"
(Okay real quick, so Mary is fifteen, and she is 18 when she will reunite with Yuuji at the academy, maybe have a shrine of him, but he is 24 now so would this be legal right?)
I take one last look at the man before locking eyes with his adoptive mother, "if it means I can protect your son, then count me in."
And the moment I said that she gave me a smirk, "oh? Did you fall for my son already?" She teased as I blush, "don't worry, even during his highschool days lots of women tried asking him out and he was too dense to realize they were flirting with him, so if you wish to have him, become stronger and be blunt with him." She advises before holding her hand out, "anyways, welcome to the Taimanin academy."
(Sorry guys it will have to be a short chapter, I decided to do a side story to introduce mcs mom and the princess turned yandere Taimanin, she will be going through a Batman style training montage but it will be worth making this side story when they finally meet again.
