Long Liu approached the two uninvited guests, her expression dark. The temperature around her soared, easily surpassing a hundred degrees Celsius.
Yet, the man and woman before her remained unfazed. Without a word, the woman retrieved a token from her space ring and tossed it toward Long Liu.
Long Liu caught it mid-air, her eyes narrowing. "What is this?"
"I am Gong Ning, an emissary of the Intergalactic Council," the woman stated coldly. "Your insignificant planet has one star year, equivalent to ten of your years, to earn a seat on the Council. Fail, and you will be colonized."
A vein bulged on Long Liu's forehead, and her fingers clenched around the token, trembling with rage. She wanted nothing more than to strike down the arrogant pair, but she knew now wasn't the time to lose her composure.
"And how exactly does one 'win' a seat on this Intergalactic Council?" she asked through gritted teeth.
