Metis was busy preparing the potion, carefully gathering ingredients and mixing them together. The others watched, waiting for her to finish. Among them, Campe stood close to Jupiter, staying by his side the entire time. Metis noticed this and kept glancing at them now and then. A strange feeling crept into her heart, though she tried to ignore it.
Meanwhile, Oceanus, the eldest son of Gaea and Uranus Among Titan's, suddenly spoke, drawing everyone's attention—even his daughter, Metis.
"Jupiter, I have made my decision," he said. "I will not fight in this war."
Everyone was surprised—except Jupiter, of course. He had already seen how things would play out. Thanks to the Omniversal TV, he knew all kinds of stories, including this one. Gaea and Rhea were taken aback, but Uranus wasn't. He had expected this.
"I have no interest in this war," Oceanus continued. "My domain is the vast, endless waters. This conflict between Titans and the new gods is not mine to fight. However, I will not abandon you either. You are strong enough to defeat your father—everyone knows that. But I will provide resources. Whatever I have—food, weapons, shelter—you may use. But I will not go to battle."
Jupiter grinned. "Fair enough. I respect that. Honestly, I wasn't expecting you to pick up a sword and start swinging it anyway."
Uranus gave a small smile, and the others chuckled.
"I leave the fighting to the young ones," Oceanus said before turning and leaving. One by one, the other Titans also began to depart.
Gaea then stepped forward, turning to the Cyclopes and Hecatoncheires. They had shrunk to a more manageable size, thanks to Jupiter's power. Their eyes, once filled with anger and pain from their father's cruelty, now held uncertainty. They didn't know what to do.
"My children," Gaea said gently, "you have suffered under the cruelty of your father and your brother Kronos. But you are not alone."
She spread her hands, and the ground beneath them trembled. A small portal opened, mist swirling around it, revealing a hidden land deep within the earth—her secret domain.
"Come with me to a place where you will be loved. This is my realm, a place where you can heal and understand your own worth."
Uranus, who had been standing silently nearby, finally spoke. His voice carried the weight of regret.
"I will go with you," he said. "I cannot undo what I have done… but I will try to make amends."
For a moment, the Cyclopes and Hecatoncheires were still. Then, one by one, they nodded. They would go with Gaea.
Before Gaea could leave, Rhea stepped forward.
"Mother, take me with you."
Gaea blinked in surprise. "Rhea?"
Rhea took a deep breath, then turned to both her mother and father.
"I want to learn. I want to train. I want to fight alongside my children and their father." She looked at Uranus. "Father, please train me too. I don't want to feel powerless ever again. I don't want to lose my children in the future. And I don't want to be weak."
Seeing Rhea's determined face, Gaea turned to Uranus, her husband. They had patched things up after he asked for forgiveness. She had cried a little, but in the end, she forgave him. Uranus gave her a nod of approval.
"Very well, daughter," Gaea said with a smile. "We will teach you."
"Thank you, Mother ..Father," Rhea said, relief and gratitude in her voice.
Jupiter watched all this with a satisfied nod. Good. He knew he needed to keep his mother safe, and letting her go with his grandmother was the best way to do that.
With that, Gaea, Rhea, Uranus, the Cyclopes, and the Hecatoncheires stepped into the hidden realm and vanished from sight.
Now, the only ones left were the nymphs, who had gone outside to hunt with Amaltheia. Back inside the cave, Metis was still focused on her potion, carefully selecting magical herbs. Her fingers moved with precision as she crushed ingredients, mixed liquids, and chanted spells. The potion had to be strong enough to make Kronos vomit up his innocent children—but subtle enough that he wouldn't suspect anything while drinking it.
No matter how hard she tried to concentrate, her eyes kept drifting toward Jupiter and Campe. Campe stood closer to Jupiter than anyone else, listening to his every word with a soft gaze. A blush dusted her cheeks as she held his hand. Whenever he laughed or smiled, she looked completely at ease with him.
It irritated Metis more than she wanted to admit.
With a scowl, she slammed a vial down, gritting her teeth. Why does this bother me so much?
Before she could wrestle with her thoughts, a quiet voice broke through.
"You're jealous."
Metis stiffened and turned around—Campe was standing behind her.
She glanced past Campe and saw that Jupiter had just left the cave. Then, she noticed something strange—Campe's eyes had shifted, slitted like a snake's. But there was no hostility in them, only understanding.
Metis crossed her arms and looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Campe sighed and stepped closer.
"I know that look. I've seen it before."
Metis tensed, but Campe only gave her a small, amused smile.
"Relax. I didn't come to fight you."
