Chapter 289 - Chapter 290: Limbo: Border Jail

Chapter 290: Limbo: Border Jail

In the Land of Fire, a ninja wearing a uniquely designed black helmet stood silently. The surface of the helmet was engraved with intricate runes and seals that glowed faintly with a blue light, connected to a massive sphere of blue water.

As Hyuga Fuji and Isshiki gradually revealed their full strength, a ninja from the Yamanaka Clan suddenly opened his eyes wide in shock. His face turned pale, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead.

At the same time, noticeable changes began to occur on the surface of the blue water sphere.

Initially calm and occasionally rippling, part of the sphere now bulged out suddenly, forming sharp protrusions.

The others in the room noticed both the ninja's reaction and the changes to the sphere, their expressions turning grim.

"What is this..."

Tsunade stepped forward with a serious expression. "What's going on?"

"Lady Hokage," the Yamanaka ninja stammered nervously, swallowing hard, "there are two massive, otherworldly chakra forces clashing in the skies above the Land of Earth. This tremor is a result of their collision."

His hands trembled slightly as he continued, "One of them... I've sensed it before—it belongs to Fuji... Hyuga Fuji. The other, based on intelligence reports, is likely Jigen."

Ever since the Land of Earth had called for help, the Land of Fire had sent reinforcements and tasked him with monitoring the battlefield through this chakra amplification device.

Previously, there had been occasional bursts of strong chakra, but compared to what he was sensing now, those were insignificant.

Even sensing these presences made him feel as though he was being torn apart. A terrifying thought arose in his mind—there was absolutely no way to fight monsters like that!

Tsunade closed her eyes. "How long until the support forces arrive? Will they make it in time?"

On the room's electronic screen, Shikaku, remotely participating in the command, paused before shaking his head.

"The Water Nation's movements are too fast. Based on reports from the Land of Earth, they're planning a blitzkrieg. With their specialized combat strategy, our main forces won't be able to keep up. Small nations near the Land of Earth can provide limited assistance, but it won't change the outcome."

"What about an elite squad?"

"They might be able to save Onoki, but they won't affect the larger situation. After all..."

Shikaku's gaze fell on the still-unstable chakra sphere. He didn't finish his sentence, but everyone understood what he meant.

At this moment, the battle between Hyuga Fuji and Jigen was the key to the Land of Earth's fate.

Tsunade took a deep breath. "So you're saying there's nothing we can do? Just sit and watch?"

"There are too few people capable of standing against them. Unless..."

Shikaku stopped mid-sentence.

But Tsunade knew what he meant—they had discussed that option before.

Waving her hand dismissively, Tsunade said, "Let's not bring that up again. We're not dead yet. What kind of leaders would we be if we threw everything onto the kids?"

"I understand," Shikaku replied with a nod. After a moment's thought, he added, "Although we can't control the main battlefield in the Land of Earth, we can still gain the upper hand in other areas. We can slow down the Water and Snow Nations' advances."

To hinder their plans, the Water and Snow Nations had launched attacks on both the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning, diverting forces even before targeting the Land of Earth.

The more resources the Water and Snow Nations poured into the Land of Earth, the fewer they had to restrain other countries. With the help of smaller nations, their chances of success increased.

"Draft a strategy and give it to me." Tsunade glanced at the water sphere, her gaze somber. "Also, tell the elite squad supporting the Land of Earth to move faster and do their best!"

"Yes," Shikaku's image replied before the screen switched off, signaling the end of the meeting.

Tsunade stared at the scene for a few seconds before turning and leaving the room.

"Notify me immediately if there are any new developments."

"Yes!"

The doors closed firmly behind her as she left in one smooth motion.

Outside, she looked at the Anbu accompanying her.

"Have you found any trace of Orochimaru? Where is he now?"

"According to investigations, his last known location was near Ideal City."

Tsunade narrowed her eyes. "I see..."

The day Hyuga Fuji defected, Orochimaru had done the same. There was no way it was a coincidence, and Tsunade didn't believe otherwise for a second.

She would need to find an opportunity to have a proper talk with him.

...

Isshiki cast a faint glance at Hyuga Fuji.

An invisible force seemed to tear through the world, summoning an all-consuming sea of flames. Intense heat waves surged across the battlefield in an instant, and the raging inferno swallowed Hyuga Fuji whole in the blink of an eye.

Moments later, streams of oil manifested out of nowhere, fueling the fire further.

Suddenly, a powerful repulsive force burst forth from the center of the flames, scattering them in all directions.

"So that's the ability of your other eye? The power to create something from nothing—not bad."

Seeing that Hyuga Fuji had the same misunderstanding as Uchiha Madara, Isshiki sneered coldly. A Rinnegan quietly appeared in the palm of his hand.

Hyuga Fuji's gaze shifted slightly as he took a step back, blocking the invisible hand with his own.

'Is this Uchiha Madara's dojutsu?'

Isshiki stepped forward abruptly, appearing behind Hyuga Fuji without warning. With his shadow, he launched a pincer attack.

He wasn't like Nagato, that weakling. As a member of the Otsutsuki Clan, with Madara's Rinnegan in his possession, he could fully unleash its power!

However, in Isshiki's opinion, this technique was somewhat underwhelming. It was excellent for fighting weaker foes but lacked the impact needed in high-level battles.

Limbo: Border Jail—Madara's Rinnegan ability—allowed the user to split their "shadow" into another entity.

Ordinary people couldn't see or sense these shadows. Only those with Rinnegan-level dojutsu or Six Paths Senjutsu could perceive them.

Hyuga Fuji possessed both.

To him, Limbo was nothing more than a glorified Shadow Clone.

He created a shadow clone armed with three Truth-Seeking Orbs to block Isshiki's main body while narrowing his eyes. The remaining orbs behind him began to stir.

They circled around Hyuga Fuji rapidly, releasing an intense chakra wave and gathering tremendous energy.

Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion!

In an instant, a massive tornado erupted from the spinning Truth-Seeking Orbs. The tornado, an eerie silver-white, seemed to be composed of countless fine chakra blades spinning at dizzying speeds.

The whirlwind roared forward, tearing through the air and shaking the very fabric of space. The silvery light within the tornado flickered unpredictably.

It connected heaven and earth, clashing fiercely with Isshiki's shadow. Brilliant light and shockwaves exploded outward, sending waves crashing down the canal and causing discomfort among the ninjas on the battlefield below.

As Hyuga Fuji completed the Silver Wheel Reincarnation Explosion, a sharp whistling noise suddenly pierced the air. Giant black stone spears appeared out of nowhere, shooting from the void with deadly precision toward Hyuga Fuji's position.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Hyuga Fuji remained calm. Seven Truth-Seeking Orbs formed a golden sword, instantly shattering the spears into fragments. He then turned to face Isshiki, who had just destroyed his shadow clone.

"Is that all you've got?"
