The next day, the sun rose like every morning. Twenny sits up on her bed and looks over at Aku, she looks out the window towards a mountain range.
Twenny stands by the window resting her elbows on it to support her head. "The monsters will be approaching in a couple of hours. Ahh, that's the scout to report." Her vision zooms in on a lone soldier on a horse rushing to Frishia with fear painted on his face. "A lot of people will die, this city will be overrun by the monsters if my agent wasn't here."
Twenny's vision zooms to the monster horde approaching, she grins. "You'll make the perfect practice dummies for them." She turns around and taps Aku, "Wake up Aku. It's morning."
In the boys room, Flint is sleeping on his bed covered in the sheets and Chuck is….sucking his thumb. Twenny barges into the room, "WAKE UP!!" they're startled up and look around for an attack. Twenny notices Chuck, "You suck your thumb?"
Chuck shaves his head, "NO! Clearing I'm rubbing my lips." He gives his smile and Flint looks at Chuck shaking his head.
Aku walks behind Twenny, "You guys should wash up quickly. We'll be joining the army to subjugate the monsters." She walks away with Twenny following.
Flint gets out of bed and dresses up, "Let's bath before leaving, I doubt we'll get the chance to bath once the subjugation starts."
Chuck gets out of bed, "Sheessh, I never knew you to be one to enjoy baths." He dresses up.
"Which strikes me as odd." Flint takes a bucket. "You're normally the clean freak."
"Hey! Just because I care about my appearance doesn't mean I'm a clean freak." Chuck takes his towel and leaves the room with Flint following.
Flint shakes his head, "You care so much to bath 8 times a day."
"Cleanliness is divine." Chuck turns down the stairs to his right.
"At this rate your skin will finish." Flint goes to the manager as he points them to the bath.
They both enter the bath and enjoy a splash of water before heading back to their room, Chuck rubs sweet scented ointment on his body as Flint stares. "What?"
Flint looks at the ointment, Chuck smiles and tosses it his way and he uses it. They both walk out the room and meet Twenny waiting behind the door for Aku to finish dressing.
Flint approaches her, "Waaoow, you're fast."
Twenny turns to them, "Well, it's just bathing and dressing. Also, something stinks around here." Twenny sniffs around and notices the boys to be the source as they try to hide their embarrassment. Twenny rolls her eyes, "I'm not saying it's bad but keep your distance from me. My sense are sharper than normal humans so to me it's like whatever you used is right under my nose." She holds her nose and leaves.
"This was a bad idea." Flint rubs his hair.
Chuck nods, "But still, no regrets." He gives a thumbs up.
Flint does the same then Aku walks out from her room, "Ohh, you guys smell nice. What did you use?"
Chuck pumps his chest out, "I got it from- "
Aku cuts in, "You got it? I just lost interest since a lady hunter got it." Chuck is shocked. Aku pulls Flint away, "Don't teach my baby Filly such things."
Chuck scoffs, "He's my best friend, birds of a feather flock toge- " *BANG* Aku threw a tray at his face.
They walk out to see Twenny waiting for them, she steps back when the boys get close.
Aku is curious of her behavior, "What's wrong Twenny?"
"Highly scented ointments are too much for me to handle." Twenny covers her nose with her handkerchief.
Aku chuckles then nudges Chuck, "Well what do you know? You get an ointment to attract girls but you just repelled the first one you meet."
Chuck shrugs, "She's not the only girl around, besides she only has sensitive nose. If not for that she'd w- "
"I still won't do whatever you're going to say." Twenny cuts in, "Let's go, the subjugation army is waiting outside the city to start."
Flint giggles as Chuck is left with his words stuck in his mouth, Aku pulls him along. They walk for a few minutes before arriving at the gates to exit the city. They leave the city but strangely the people can't recognize Twenny to be the same person who scared them silly yesterday.
About 1,000 adventurers are outside the city with soldiers reaching 10,000 getting ready to face the monsters. Other nobles are also present along with 'that' Razzle, the soldiers form ranks but adventurers are adventurers. There's a raised platform with the nobles on it like a display trophy as the people just watch them. A runic circle appears over the platform, it seems to be a sound amplification circle.
A noble lady stands before the people to address them, "I'm Duchess Aella Celeste Zephan." The soldiers salute, on closer inspection she seems to be in armor. She's blonde in light armor with a sword by her side, and seems to be in her late teens. "The captain of Silver Crow." The people pay rapt attention to her as the Silver Crows are excellent female warriors. "I will be taking command of this subjugation." She looks across the people to see she's got their attention. "An hour ago we received report that the monsters have set out for Frishia, we're expecting them to arrive her by noon." She goes on and on about monsters and fight for the city.
Flint looks serious with Chuck….being Chuck as he fantasizes, Aku looks pumped up as she whispers, "This might be my chance to show that I can be a great knight." Twenny picks her ears as she doesn't even listen to Aella's speech.
Razzle casts his eyes across the crowds to see the trio, he looks further and sees Twenny. He smiles but his smile freezes, Twenny's not even listening to them, "She's not even bothered to look at us and she's picking her ears. I'll speak to her before the subjugation starts, I might get to form a connection and get her to join me."
Aella continues, "And with that, WE. WILL. WIN!" the people cheer making Twenny confused on what just happened. The people calm as they get ready to match and face the monsters.
Flint approaches Twenny, "Teacher, is it alright to spar a little before the battle." He looks at a group of people sparing and he sees it to be cool.
"Conserve your strength." Twenny looks over at them. "Those guys are going to die so if they mess around it won't make much difference."
Razzle appears out of nowhere, "What make my lady think that?" Flint freaks out as his soul nearly jumps out of his skin.
Twenny looks at Razzle with an annoyed face, "What do you want?"
Razzle smile twitches as his thoughts, "Calm yourself Razzle, you are the heir." Then he speaks up, "I'm just hoping to form a connection with you, let's say become a friend." He smiles at Twenny.
Aku notices this as she scowls at Razzle but doesn't act, Chuck is being Chuck with a group of girls. Oh, one slapped him.
Twenny looks over at the mountain range where the monsters will come from. "Let me be blunt, I hate the scheming type." She points a finger at him, "Everything about you scream of schemes."
Razzle is shocked, "*Sighs* Indeed I had schemes." Aku's scowl intensifies while Flint turns but observes Razzle from the corner of his eyes. Razzle continues, "But it seems none of them will work with you, so I give up. Would you be willing to befriend me, not as noble to nobles but as actual friends?" His words stir up controversy in the people observing as they start to assume Twenny to be a noble.
Twenny stares at him, "Fi~ne. Just don't get me into too much trouble." She extends her hand for a handshake shocking Razzle as he stares at her hands. "What? You don't want to be friends?"
"No no, I didn't expect you to actually agree." Razzle chuckles. "Sure." He shakes her hand. "I'll try to avoid bringing too much trouble your way." He turns and leaves.
Then Flint approaches Twenny, "Teacher, why did you decide to be friends with him?"
"To use him as a shield." Twenny moves her hair over her ears as her hearing heightens with a blue glow but no one noticed. "After this battle, other nobles will want to meet us. I agreed so he will be the one they have to go through we both benefit either way."
Flint shakes his head, "I can't understand nobles." Twenny chuckles.
"OVER THERE!" A soldier screams, "THE MONSTERS ARE COMING!"
