"So, you are telling me that Gabriel's wife stabbed him with a holy weapon, he made it to your estate, and now he is in your dungeon? Why did you need to tell me of your crimes?" Isaac asked, wishing he could forget everything he had heard. "I want to find my way back into the court."
"I don't see how what I told you would stop you from returning. Are you going to tell on me, Isaac?" Xavier asked, stopping to look at Isaac.
"I am getting the feeling that if I don't give you a good answer, I might end up in the dungeon right beside him," Isaac replied.
"Well done. You are smart again," Xavier said, his gaze going toward the church.
Xavier sat with Isaac inside his carriage, waiting for his moment to enter.
Isaac looked around the carriage. "You are not afraid someone overheard what I said?"
"There are stones inside the carriage. It was a great addition after I married Selene," Xavier responded.
