"I'm so sorry…" Rocco sniffled, his eyes tearing up.
Laxus wrapped him in a tight, comforting hug as he trembled with guilt.
Rocco clung to him and murmured softly into his chest, "…I'm sorry for worrying you…"
Laxus's face lifted at the words, and he offered Rocco a meltingly warm smile before placing a soft kiss on his lips.
"Mmm… you don't need to apologize," Laxus whispered. "If anything, I'm the one who should be saying sorry."
Rocco blinked his eyes up at him, confused.
Why was Laxus apologizing?
But then it hit him.
Right.
He had gotten hurt because he'd thrown himself in front of an attack to protect Laxus.
Was that what Laxus felt so guilty about?

He didn't need to feel bad about that at all.
Rocco puffed out his chest with a little "hmph!" and reached up to pat Laxus's head with a reassuring smile.
