Lilian's heart began racing wildly again as he drew closer. She couldn't tell whether it was due to nerves or because he was teasing her. It took all her effort to finally speak:
"If… if you agree, we'll keep it a secret and not let him find out."
Her brother would never approve of her dating Morrison. Although her brother always wore a stoic expression and had a sharp tongue, he was genuinely caring and protective of her.
If he discovered she was involved with Morrison, he would probably lose it. Even though Morrison was his good friend, that wouldn't make it acceptable.
So, her brother couldn't find out.
Not just him—her mother, her father, her lord—not a single person would approve. Which meant that if Morrison agreed, their relationship would have to be a *secret*.
