Bert made a call for Tiffany and Emma Washington to be sent back, then sat alone in the office that originally belonged to Dave, closing his eyes and falling into deep thought.

Why didn't he feel any joy or excitement at this moment?
Logically, having obtained something he had desired for so many years, he should have been thrilled and overjoyed. Yet for some reason, his emotions felt remarkably calm.
Sitting in the chair of the Chairman of Washington Co., he felt an overwhelming sense of failure, as if this position didn't belong to him. No matter how hard he tried to convince himself, his feeling remained that he was an intruder.

His people informed him that Daniel was hospitalized. After driving around aimlessly for a while, Bert eventually drove to the hospital where Daniel was staying.
