"I'm fine, you don't need to worry."
Daniel looked Tiffany up and down.
"But what about you? Did that bastard make things difficult for you?"
Daniel's biggest worry was that Bert would take all his frustrations out on Tiffany and make things hard for her.
Tiffany smiled and shook her head.
"No, he didn't. He's actually not such a bad person."
Tiffany made this judgment based on her experience spending a day with Bert and her granddaughter.
"Not such a bad person?"
Daniel didn't agree with Tiffany's assessment.
"Not such a bad person? He kidnapped you and Emma! What he did is a crime!"
Daniel was still angry when he spoke about it.
"It's not just his fault that he ended up this way."
Tiffany replied to him calmly, leaving Daniel with nothing more to say.
Tiffany didn't mean to dredge up old grievances, but she felt that the reason for Bert's actions today wasn't solely his fault, and there was no need to keep blaming him.
