Every day when Laurent arrived at the office, the first thing she did was open her computer to check her emails. However, among the many emails, she saw one from Bert.
After the fallout with Bert last time, Laurent had immediately canceled their business cooperation and had not had any contact with Bert since. Bert hadn't reached out to her either.
So when Laurent suddenly received an email from Bert today, she felt uneasy, fearing that Bert might stir up some more trouble. At first, Laurent completely ignored the email and focused on dealing with other work-related messages.
