The same dwarves who had once been so harsh to him had now finally warmed up to Biru as they patted his back and clinked their mugs. He had earned their respect—and, in turn, the Dwarven King respected them.
He finally understood why they all treated the sport as seriously as they did. He saw the purpose as to why they relentlessly worked hard all day long to prepare their bodies for the physical intensity they needed for a win.
Though they apologized to him for their earlier harshness, Biru waved off their concern with a smile, pouring them more and more beer.
They drank until their bellies were full and their hearts light.
