The crowd fell silent. A woman pulled her husband's arm, whispering that they should leave. A man lowered the sign he had been clutching and turned away. One by one, the pressure in the square began to fade.
Rhistel let out a slow breath, but he didn't relax. This was only the beginning because he could see that most of the crowd was in Evelyn's control now. They were looking at her for guidance.
"I will find proof and then return, my lord. You can not hide her for a long time. Olivia is a criminal. She drinks blood to satisfy her thirst." she announced making others whisper again.
He watched her leave with narrowed eyes. Olivia had a thirst for blood. It was clear that Evelyn knew much more than they did. If another accident happened, he would not be able to save them anymore.
Inside, Oriana sat by the window, still watching. Her hands were clasped in her lap, knuckles white, eyes red. The moment she saw him, she stood.
