The angels of Class B truly experienced hell.
Meanwhile, on the beach, the teachers discovered something interesting.
All four homeroom teachers had gathered there. This arrangement was only for the first day — starting tomorrow, they would take turns with two teachers on duty each day. After all, even teachers needed rest, so those not on duty could return to the ship.
It seemed like a pleasant setup. However, after establishing a simple supply exchange post, the four homeroom teachers set up their laptops on the table and opened their GPS software.
The students' wristbands served dual purposes: health monitoring and location tracking. While the teachers couldn't identify individual GPS signals, they could still get a useful overview of student positions.
As the four teachers settled in with their computers, Chie leaned back in her chair.
"This brings back memories." She said, "Here we are, back on this island together. It reminds me of when our class took the exam here. Right, Sae~?"
"Let's not talk about that." Sae said sternly.
Their class hadn't been as exceptional as Miyabi's or Manabu's — their Class D had only managed to save Base Points and earn a few Reward Points, resulting in a mere 190 Points for the exam.
It was unremarkable, especially compared to their year's Class A, which had scored 260 Points.
"They've added more spots compared to our year." Kazuma chimed in, "According to the materials, there are 41 now. They've even made the island management staff's cabin a spot with bonus points available — unlike our year when there were only 30 spots."
As he spoke, Chie gave a slight nod before abruptly turning toward Tomonari and staring at his computer screen, completely ignoring his comment.
"..." Kazuma.
This was really frustrating.
Chie was exactly this type of person — she'd engage enthusiastically in conversations about topics she enjoyed, but the moment she lost interest, she'd ignore you completely.
Very annoying.
"Mashima-sensei's Class A is truly exceptional." Chie said, having already moved to Tomonari's side.
His computer screen flashed briefly before him, noticing her peeking, closed the GPS software.
"Don't come over here to spy on my class's situation." Tomonari said sternly.
The homeroom teachers of all four classes this year were from the same year, with him, Chie, and Kazuma having all been Class A students.
Though they were classmates with a seemingly decent relationship, Tomonari knew better — Chie was no ordinary woman.
Despite her sweet and cute demeanor, she remained single for good reason.
Several male students had liked her in their class, but Tomonari had once caught her kicking a railing while cursing at Sae. He'd slipped away unnoticed that night, but the impression stayed with him.
That was why he couldn't believe her sweet girl act.
"But your class's students are truly exceptional—" Chie said with dejection, "Like Sakayanagi-san, Katsuragi-kun, and Oreki-kun. My class only has Ichinose and Kanzaki. And Ichinose is too gentle. Yet now, in less than half an hour, your class has already captured 5 spots."
"Go look after your own class." Tomonari replied firmly.
Of course he knew how exceptional this year's Class A was.
Like the Chairman, he looked forward to Class A's growth, eager to see how far they could go.
The class had split into factions — the Kōhei faction, the Arisu faction, and the neutral Houtarou faction. They seemed more interested in fighting amongst themselves than dealing with other classes.
However, with Arisu absent now, Class A's students hadn't completely separated yet.
Things were going well. They had secured 5 spots right from the start — an excellent performance.
"Speaking of which, isn't your Class B doing well too, Hoshinomiya-san? They've passed by several spots already, showing they're working hard. And they're moving as an entire class — their morale is high." Tomonari said.
In comparison, his Class A students had stopped moving after securing 5 spots, seemingly satisfied with that achievement.
But Class B's students kept moving without pause, passing several spots along the way.
"Hey!" Chie shot him a look of disgust, clearly blaming him for peeking at her computer.
She had been present when Kakeru came to seek cooperation with Honami and the others, so she knew Class B's grades were secure for this exam.
Class C would deduct Base Points to provide supplies to Class B, allowing Class B to save their Base Points. When final calculations were made, they could score higher than other classes.
While they would need to pay monthly points to Class C, gaining Class Points early was the priority. Since Class B's points currently lagged behind Class A's, this was a chance to narrow the gap.
She had learned from Shibata that Class A and Class D had made a similar arrangement — Class D would provide supplies to Class A to help preserve their Base Points.
However, with Arisu's absence, Class A would first deduct 30 Points, giving Class B a slight edge.
Furthermore, while Class A had stopped after securing five spots, Class B's students showed more initiative by continuing their search for new locations. Chie hoped Honami and her classmates could claim as many spots as possible while Class A remained stationary, since it was first come, first served.
The rules were clear: staying too long or misusing items at another class's spot would result in point deductions.
This artificial island had various food sources — corn, vegetables, and other crops cultivated by the school. Damaging or harvesting these without permission from the controlling class would lead to significant penalties, though the resources themselves were valuable.
By securing enough spots, they could become largely self-sufficient in food supplies rather than spending Base Points on provisions. This meant that even with their alliance with Class C, they would only need to pay Kakeru a minimal amount of points — putting Class B in an advantageous position.
Glancing at Kazuma's computer screen, she noticed that except for one student heading toward the beach, the other 39 students remained at a single spot.
Had they set up camp? If so, this presented an opportunity.
Modern students typically needed hours just to set up tents due to their limited camping experience — time that Class B's students could use to scout more locations. The approaching Class C student likely wanted to arrange the supply exchange.
Everything seemed to be going well for Class B.
However, something struck Chie as odd — why did they need all their students searching for spots?
Instead, why were all 40 of Honami's classmates moving together? Weren't they going to leave some people to set up camp first?
The school allocated two tents to each class. While this wouldn't be enough, they could have left some students to set up camp first while others searched for spots to earn Points.
Why did all the students need to move together?
This puzzled Chie as she turned her attention to Class D's homeroom teacher Sae.
"Hehe, Sae-chan, your class is still the same—" Chie said, moving closer.
Sae had also opened the GPS software on her computer, which displayed the students' wristbands as red dots on the map.
But Class D's students weren't moving at all — they were staying in one spot.
Then something caught her eye. Three Class D students had separated from the group. Two of them fell behind, while one sprinted ahead at incredible speed, like some kind of Tarzan, leaving the other two far behind.
The two who fell behind appeared to have given up, showing no signs of moving forward or turning back. They had completely stopped.
But this Tarzan-like student was truly remarkable.
Chie marveled at his performance.
His movement speed was extraordinary, and he skillfully navigated past each spot's location. He even passed by the next spot that Class B's angels were approaching.
This could only mean one thing — the two groups had met.
