Using his legs to power his movements, Yang Yu attacked the poisonous snake with his sword.
The part of the poisonous snake that contained a core did not turn into black energy; the parts without a core would first turn into gas upon being severed and then, following the snake's consciousness, whimsically coalesce back into a solid form.
This was key to locating the core.
Yang Yu danced with his sword, the blade flickering with light. He first cut the snake in half, then aimed for the part that did not dissipate into black energy, splitting it in two from the middle, repeated several times until the lengthy serpent was reduced to merely the size of a fist.
It was within this fist-sized piece that the core, corrupted from a fairy, resided.
With an unadorned sword technique, Yang Yu probed the edges of the core, confidently shaving away all the black energy to reveal the dimly glowing core.
