Damian observed Evelina, his laughter softening. He reached out and tucked a stray hair behind her ear. "You know," he said softly, "I like this. Seeing you like this."
Evelina tilted her head. "Like what?"
"Happy," he said simply.
Her breath hitched as she looked into his eyes.
No teasing, no games. Just honesty.
She swallowed, her heart pounding a little too fast. "I… I think I like it too," she admitted.
Damian smiled, squeezing her hand. "Good. Because I plan on giving you a lot more moments like this."
Relia cooed sweetly. "Ooooohhhh… they are falling in love already."
Evelina ignored her, but she knew the truth.
Maybe, just maybe… Relia was right.
Though she wasn't admitting it yet.
Rolling her eyes, a smile tugged at her lips as she faced Damian. "You're awfully confident, aren't you?"
Damian smirked. "It's part of my charm."
Evelina snorted. "Debatable."
