Her heartbeat quickened and her thoughts grew increasingly erratic as she bit her lip under her veil.
He is just so… perfect.
She had seen powerful men before. She had met nobles, and warriors, powerful and all kinds of good-looking men.
Yet none of them held a candle to her Brother Ethan.
But they were either brutish, egotistical, or worse power-hungry fools who thought strength alone commanded respect.

He was everything she had ever desired but never dared to hope for.
A protector, a companion, and a presence that both soothed and excited her.
Without realizing it, Virelle's fingers curled into tight fists.
Her chest tightened as the vague dark thought residing in her mind for so long finally grew well-defined.
