Elise narrowed her eyes and looked Winter up and down, just as Emily had done earlier. Then, with a sigh, she shook her head again.
"I swear, I can't tell if you're a fox or a bear."
"Who? Me?"
"Never mind. Anyway, be careful of that woman. Just look at how she snagged the manager position at Escape Coin. She's a real vixen. Make sure you keep a close eye on her so she doesn't use this case as an excuse to bother Ryan."
Elise's expression was like that of a younger sister worrying about her immature older brother. It was a face that hinted at years of bickering as if they were about to devour each other.
As Winter smiled contentedly, Elise snapped at him.
"What are you grinning about?"
"I understand your concern. Now that I think about it, it makes sense."
"What? Who's worried about whom?"
