"It's fine."
Hugo calmly refused, then closed the bedroom door and left.
Winter plopped down on the absurdly large bed.
The days I had to spend with that inscrutable man stretched endlessly before me.
"Mmm."
Winter, lying alone on the bed, suddenly opened her eyes.
It seemed she had dozed off, perhaps due to unavoidable tension.
Winter quickly got up, opened the door, and went out to the living room.
The summer sunlight pouring into the room was still dazzling. It seemed she hadn't slept for long.
Hugo was sitting at a desk facing the pool, looking at his tablet. It appeared as if he had an endless amount of work to process.
"I'm sorry. I accidentally fell asleep."
"It's fine. It hasn't even been an hour."
Hugo replied without lifting his gaze from the tablet.
Winter wandered aimlessly around the living room, watching Hugo's back.
Gurgle, an untimely sound emerged from Winter's stomach.
Only then did Hugo turn to look at Winter and ask,
"Are you hungry?"
"A little."
