"You shouldn't be on your feet," Malia tried to stand up from her chair but fell back with a huff then glared down at her stomach. Her cheeks puffed out in partial frustration which was adorable and funny to see.
"Don't worry Mal," Demyan chuckled. His blonde hair was up in a messy bun which revealed his hollowed out cheeks. His normally tanned caramel skin looked pale making his freckles stand out more than usual. He looked exhausted. The dark circles under his eyes made him look miserable as well. "I don't think I'll be able to cope with just laying around the whole day."
"We don't want you to collapse again," I pushed myself off from the wall I was leaning against then gently guided Demyan back to the hospital bed. He had lost weight which made his tracksuit look bagger on him.
He gave me the sassiest look he could muster with minimum energy and despite his protests allowed me to help him lay down. "Argh I feel like I could sleep for a century."
