Chapter 9 - CHAPTER 8

As the week came to an end, Trevor managed to raise the money for his plane ticket to Ohio. He packed his belongings the night before his departure and departed the following afternoon, making sure to fill the refrigerator with enough food to last Niramol for a few weeks. He took Niramol to the airport, where he boarded the plane and departed following the required airport security checks and other formalities.

Upon reaching their destination, he stepped off the aircraft and summoned a taxi to transport him to the closest hotel. When he arrived at reception and attempted to check in for the night, he was informed that all of the rooms were reserved. To get to another hotel, he had to call another cab; this also applied to the hotel and a few others where he attempted to check in. He knew his bad luck had struck again. But why now? In a city where no one knows him. He noticed that it was late when he checked his watch. His only option would be to sleep on the street.but wouldn't that land him in jail? What if the police fine him for trespassing? He continue to walk for long time without knowing where he's going then as he sat on a chair at the roadside , thinking of where he could have a late dinner a car stopped at the from him.

In order to get his attention, the man in the car waved his hand and called out, "Hey there."

Trevor waved back, "Hey"

"I need directions to the nearest hotel around here!" he yelled.

"Oh !! All hotel rooms appear to be fully booked for the night. I am new here and have checked into all of the hotels, but I always get the same response. He informed the man

The man, who appears exhausted and irritated, bends his head toward the steering wheel, looks up at Trevor, and thanks him. He was ready to drive away when he asked Trevor if he could get into the car so they could try their luck at another hotel. With a nod of gratitude, Trevor got into the man's car and they went out to check out all the hotels and motels they could find, but they were either closed or had no room.

Trevor felt bad and guilty for the man because he knew he's badluck is also stopping the man from getting a nice place to spend the night but he couldn't tell him or do anything about it.

They decided to spend the night in the car. For two big men, it was uncomfortable, but it was preferable to living on the streets. The man explained to Trevor why he had traveled to Ohio as they lay down to sleep. He must track down his daughter, who was kidnapped by former gang members who threatened him after he left. Seeing how helpful he was to the gang, they had warned him. However, he had fallen in love and had to change to protect the woman he loved. He was not taken seriously by his fellow gang members when he told them, but they threatened him after realizing how determined he was. Nevertheless, he fled with the woman he loves, who was then expecting his child, and had been living a quiet life with a new identity and a successful career as an attorney until a few weeks ago, when he learned that his daughter had been kidnapped while she was on her way to school. Had Matteo, the current leader of his gang, not called him to advise him to visit Ohio if he ever wanted to see his daughter again, he would not have known.

Trevor felt the sorrow of the man at the loss of his daughter. The man appears to be much older than him—possibly in his late 50s to early 60s—but he still has the right kind of muscles and looks very young. If he had wanted to use his body to make money, he would have been an action movie star or a wrestler. Nate, the man, showed him the tattoo that his gang members had given him to identify him as their commander in the future. But he knew when he met Martha this wasn't the life he had wanted. He had only gone into it to avoid having to live on the streets like many other homeless children who had been abandoned, including himself.

As they wrap up their conversation, they begin to fall asleep. Trevor felt the presence of niramol so strongly that he had to sit up and see if she was nearby. Although she was not there, he could still smell her subtle perfume. He shook his head; perhaps he was experiencing hallucinations. Even as he sleeps he still feel the presence of niramol at a time he could hear he soft voice reassuring him that she would make his journey to ohio successful .However, the presence he felt lingered until the following morning.

It felt different the following morning. After Nate and Trevor exchanged contact information and agreed to speak more in the future, Nate left, and then a message—likely from the police or his sister's lawyer—popped into his phone reminding him of his appointment for today. He set out to search for his sister using the address on from the message but not before successfully booking an hotel room , taking a nice shower and having a decent breakfast. The presence that he had previously sensed remained with him throughout this entire time. It was there, watching him, ensuring that his bad luck never reared its ugly head. It smiles when Trevor smiles, and it shows restlessness when Trevor is sad. Even as he sat on the bus contemplating this new stage of his life, she held his hands, and he instantly jerked, looking so terrified that she nearly laughed. She actually laughed at his expression and when she did he turned to both sides as if he was looking for something with a startled expression on his face
