Chapter 127 - Lightning Therapy

"Great job, Dante."

Professor Berto's voice broke the stare-off between Dante and the mysterious assailant. He stood beside his student, his Scizor next to him as he gazed at the woman hovering in the air.

"I had the feeling it was you. Destroying wildlife inside a Pokeportal and attempting to murder dozens of students, you're looking at a lifetime sentence at the very least, Hunter J."

"Oh please, you think my previous crimes don't already earn me that?"

Hunter J slowly lowered her altitude, her hands resting on her hips.

When Dante saw her and heard her name, his eyes narrowed in recognition. Although she only appeared in a handful of episodes, he remembered her as one of the most iconic villains in the Pokemon anime.

She is a villain who would have killed Ash countless times if he hadn't been saved by plot armor. She is so competent, so evil, that the show's producer can only stop her by killing her.

"Give it up, J. You can't escape this time."

Berto signaled Scizor to step forward and apprehend her, his eyes observing her every movement in case she tried playing some tricks.

"I've heard that line countless times, but still, here I am. Drapion, Fire Fang."

As soon as she touched the ground, Hunter J quickly took the Pokeball from her belt and released a large, purple, scorpion-like Pokemon. Drapion roared and rushed towards Scizor, his fangs glistening with fire.

"Scizor, use Bullet Punch."

Scizor left an afterimage as he sprinted towards Drapion with his claws raised. The two Pokemon began a fierce battle, dodging and blocking each other's attacks skillfully.

At this time, Hunter J took out a pistol from her waist and fired a shot at Dante. She knew that compared to the Demon Berto, this kid's Pokemon are more problematic. Therefore, she wanted to distract him, hopefully even injuring or killing him.

Seeing the bullet heading in his direction, Dante only shifted his body to dodge them. He may be in his human form, but his speed stat of over 100 was perfectly integrated with his body. This speed already categorized him among the ranks of fast Pokemon.

"Ursaring, it's time to take out the trash. Use Body Slam."

"Ursa!"

Ursaring's body glowed white and he rushed towards Hunter J.

"Tsk."

Hunter H clicked her tongue as she glanced at the approaching brown bear. She could only take Ariados, Drapion, and Salamence with her when she disguised herself and entered this portal due to the strict requirements. Ariados is already incapacitated, Drapion is preoccupied, and she can't risk Salamence getting knocked out.

"You're not my target, but this will do."

She raised her left hand and pointed her gauntlet at the rushing Ursaring. From within the gadget, a yellow ray of light was released, heading straight towards the huge, brown Pokemon.

Just as it was about to reach him, Ursaring dematerialized into a red light and swiftly returned to his Pokeball.

"You're not the only one who can use this trick."

Dante smirked, releasing the confused Ursaring beside him. On the inside, however, he frowned while looking at the gauntlet on Hunter J's arm.

From the anime, it was shown that any Pokemon hit by the light beam from said gauntlet will turn into a statue. He even remembered Legendary Pokemon like the three Regis becoming petrified when struck by her beam.

Dante doesn't know whether the gadget on her arm is as powerful as in the anime. However, taking caution against it would be the best course of action.

"Pikachu, Azumarill, encircle her and stop her from escaping. Also, don't let yourselves get hit by the light from her gauntlet."

"Pika!" (Got it!)

"Marill." (Ok.)

"Good. It's all up to you now, bud."

Dante patted Ursaring's back as silent encouragement. Capturing an internationally wanted criminal after evolving would be the perfect ending of a story...oh Arceus, he is starting to think like Pikachu now.

Ursaring nodded and turned his gaze to the evil woman.

Hunter J scowled, her plan thwarted once more. She glanced sideways at the distance before turning back. Right now, her only chance of escape is through the air. But with the current circumstance…

She palmed Salamence's Pokeball, her face conflicted.

Her window of opportunity is limited. The avalanche has almost stopped. When the other Professor and all the students came to surround her, her chances of escaping would be close to impossible.

"Ursaring!"

Ursaring used Trailblaze under Dante's command. When paired with Quick Feet, his speed momentarily reached a point where he became a blur in Hunter J's vision. One moment her feet were squarely on the ground, and the next she found herself flying through the air.

Hunter J felt like she was hit by a truck. Her body rag-dolled across the snow, bouncing a few times before stopping a short distance away.

"Cough! Cough!"

Hunter J held her chest, her body aching all over as she coughed out blood. Ursaring walked towards her, his expression serious.

Seeing the huge bear-like Pokemon raise his paws, Hunter J suppressed the pain all over her body and forced herself to move. She desperately rolled backward, dodging the bear's attack by a hair's breadth.

With her injured body, she knew she couldn't last for long. So, even if it's risky, she jumped upwards with all her strength and released Salamence from his Pokeball. At the same time, a small black ball rolled down her sleeve which she threw upwards.

*BOOM!*

Dante covered his eyes, a blinding white light occupying his vision. When his sight recovered, he saw the back of Salamence and Hunter J flying more than 50 meters away.

"Ursa…"

Ursaring lowered his head in shame and frustration at letting the target escape. Dante walked over beside him and asked.

"Why did you hold back?"

"...Ursa." (...I'm sorry, Dad. I didn't want to hurt her too badly.)

Ursaring's head sank even lower, his chin almost touching his chest. He expected his Dad to berate him further. Therefore, when he felt a hand patting his back, he turned to look at his Dad in confusion.

"It's fine, Teddy. As long as you know what you did wrong. Besides, just like I told your big brother Pikachu, it's alright to hold back. Just make sure you can control yourself and don't hold back too much next time, yeah?"

"Ursaring!" (Thanks, Dad!)

Ursaring sniffled and gave Dante a big bear hug. Dante hugged him back, before patting his arms and reminding him.

"Come on, Teddy, we still have unfinished business. You don't want the trash to escape now, would you?"

Ursaring released Dante from his arms, his head tilting to the side in confusion.

"Ursa?" (What do you mean, Dad? They're so far away already.)

"Heh, they're not out of range yet. Azumarill, Pikachu, you guys ready?"

Dante turned to look at the aforementioned two Pokemon. At this time, Azumarill punched the ground one last time, his body radiating with power as he looked back at Dante and nodded. Pikachu's body on the side was also glowing with electricity, sparks flashing from time to time.

"Pika pi!" (Hah, don't worry little Ursaring! Just let your big brothers take care of your mess.)

Pikachu smiled and gave Ursaring a thumbs up. Right after, he curled his body into a ball before Azumarill picked him up.

Under Ursaring's stupefied gaze, his big brother Azumaril spun a few times and threw big brother Pikachu towards the distance.

"Yes, tell your boss to increase the price if he wants me to continue the contract. Tsk, I'll contact him myself."

Hunter J ended the call and spit out the blood in her mouth. When she looked back and saw no pursuer, she inwardly breathed a sigh of relief.

Although it's a shame she had to leave Drapion behind, between taking him back or risking them catching up to her, she'd pick the second choice every time.

"The Pokemon of that boy are all quite special, though *cough*. Selling them in the black market would be more profitable than the current deal."

Remembering the performance of Pikachu and Azumarill who blocked all the explosives and bullets she threw, Hunter J's eyes flashed a greedy light. And although the Ursaring was a little mediocre in comparison, seeing as it just evolved, its performance is already worthy of praise.

"Next time, I have to study more of his information. I remember that green-haired girl being particularly close to him. Can I use her..."

Hunter J was concocting another plan to capture her target when the hair all over her body stood on end. She instinctively looked up at the sky, but seeing no thunderclouds, her eyebrows furrowed.

"..ikA!"

Hunter J turned her head after hearing the sound from behind. There, she saw a yellow ball of light heading straight in her direction.

"Salamence, Protect!!"

"CHU!"

Salamence raised the green barrier just before their surroundings were filled with yellow light. Hunter J squinted, her eyes almost getting blinded.

What's going on? Did they throw a flashbang to get revenge on her? But...what is this tingling sensation?

Under her feet, Salamence let out a fearful roar. After she finished adjusting her visor, Hunter J looked around to determine what was going on. Her body trembled when she realized; they were not surrounded by light, they were drowned in a sea of lightning!

Hunter J's eyes widened when she saw the green forcefield around Salamence beginning to crack. She instinctively opened her mouth to scream, but that moment was when the barrier shattered- and she and her Pokemon got to experience a 'full body lightning therapy'.
