Mirelle who had lunged towards the other party were surprised by her sudden appearance. "Lady Witch said to help you!" Mirelle cheerfully explained to the party, as she took out her two katana out of their sheaths by her waist. Mirelle swiftly surveyed the area around them, and immediately targeted Gnolls who were capable of attacking from afar.
She immediately got into a lower stance, when she saw her targets. With both of her katana out, she spread her arms apart, as she continued to lower her posture, and without even a second, Mirelle had disappeared from where she just stood, surprising the group of adventurers by how sudden her movements were, and in a second the sound of Gnolls screeching could be heard. When they turned to look at where the sound came from, the Gnolls with bows behind the other Gnolls were defeated.
The party of Adventurers were very much surprised by Mirelle's skill and strength. Slowly, the Gnolls who had been cornering this party of Adventurers were now beginning to back off from them, which finally allowed for this party of Adventurers room to move, which only gave them more room as they pushed back the Gnolls who had been giving them a tough time earlier.
The dull and rusted swords of the Gnolls would clash with the party's own weapons, and as one of the party members looks towards Mirelle, he saw Mirelle was being surrounded, he immediately called out to his other members to help. "Guys, the girl is surrounded!" he shouted to the other members, and when the members saw Mirelle being surrounded, they immediately moved to help her.
However, just as they were approaching Mirelle, a voice of a little girl could be heard. "<<< [Fire Magic]— " Kagutsuchi's Fang>>>!" a golden flaming spear soared above their heads with each spear carrying an overwhelming heat on them as each one of the golden spears hit the Gnolls and explode, catching the nearby Gnolls by its explosion, only leaving behind a small crater on the ground.
"Lady Witch~~!" Mirelle cheerly waved her hand to Celeste, seeing the earlier scene and how unfazed Mirelle was, the party of Adventurers became curious to see the person this powerful spell came from. The Adventurers turned to look behind them, which only caused them to be as surprised when they first saw Mirelle's overwhelming display of strength, it was an unbelievable sight for them. Two young girls were capable of this much.
"Are you all uninjured?" Celeste asked the frozen adventurers, as she swiftly approach Mirelle, examining her body and seeing if she gained any injuries. Even if Mirelle's body was made from mud, her racial evolution still brought many questions which despite staying in the [Dark Forest] for 1 year, remained a mystery. Seeing that there were no noticeable injuries on Mirelle, Celeste finally turned to look at the still surprised Adventurers.
Seeing that nobody was responding, Celeste took it upon herself to do a visual scan on each person in front of her, and seeing if they needed [Healing Magic]. "Uhm... We're bruised... but we're fine, overall." one of them said, and seeing they truly had no need for [Healing Magic], Celeste simply bowed and turned to look at Mirelle again. "Mirelle, let's go." Celeste urged Mirelle to leave.
"There's another party who needs support." Celeste explained to Mirelle, looking towards a certain direction. "Yes, Lady Celeste!" Mirelle simply responded cheerfully as she sheathed her katanas. The party who had just been assisted wanted to say they're thanks to Mirelle and Celeste for helping them, but as just they were about to speak, Mirelle swiftly leaped towards a direction, as Celeste followed her from behind. "Please take care." Celeste told the adventurers, continuing to follow Mirelle to another group of adventurers in need of reinforcement.
Mirelle and Celeste would approach numerous parties of Adventurers who were in need of reinforcement, helping them in repelling the monsters surrounding them, giving them time to catch their breathe. As Mirelle and Celeste were in the middle of helping another group of Adventurers, they now had encountered something new. It was a monster Celeste had never encountered before.
It was numerous trees using its own roots as legs to walk around, it would use its branches like tentacles to not only attack but to also defend against most physical attacks. Celeste did her best to ignore her curiosity over her first encounter with a new monster, it wasn't the appropriate time to study such creatures. Celeste looked around the party of Adventurers, and upon seeing the state of party, Celeste let go of her curiosity towards the monster.
Most of the people in the party were quite bruised and visibly tired, and one of their party members were on the ground tightly clutching a part of his side. Celeste immediately used [Appraisal] on the Tree Monster, and quickly ordered Mirelle on what to do. "Mirelle, that monster is a treant variant, Stonebark Treant!" Celeste identified the monster to Mirelle, while taking the [Verdant Staff] and casting another spell on the Adventurers.
"<<< [Light Magic]— Hikari no Kekkai!>>>" as the chant ended, a pillar of light erupted in the middle of the exhausted party, and as it reached a certain height it quickly formed a dome covering the party. They were completely unaware of what was happening which only caused them to panic more, but just as the Stonebark Treants were attacking the party, they were ready to intercept it. However, to their surprise the light dome that had covered them had stopped the Stonebark Treants' attacks in their tracks.
The Stonebark Treants keep attacking [Hikari no Kekkai], but it only absorbed its attacks. The party of adventurers were now aware that the dome was a barrier spell. Knowing that they had been assisted, they started to look around, looking for the people who had assisted them only to see two young girls rapidly approaching them.
"Mirelle, those treant variants are more resistant to physical attacks compared to normal treants." Celeste started explaining the variants traits, as she continued to explain more. "Be careful of their branches, it is sharp just like a sword." Celeste warned Mirelle before sending her to fight the treants as she acted as a support for her. "Yes, Lady Celeste!" Mirelle responded firmly, quickly unsheathing one of her katana and holding it with both hands.
As if noticing Mirelle's intent, some of the Stonebark treant immediately turned around and attack Mirelle. Their Branches moved like tentacles, homing on Mirelle's position. Mirelle with her weapon out, she immediately swung her sword towards the branches coming towards her, when Mirelle's sword made contact with the branches a metallic sound reverberated from the sword and the branches contact. A testimony of how hard their body is.
Numerous branches kept coming towards Mirelle, and Mirelle would in turn deflect the incoming branches. However, it was obviously too much as Mirelle couldn't attack the Stonebark Treants with how preoccupied she was on deflecting their numerous attacks. As much as Mirelle wanted to attack the Stonebark Treants, she couldn't and instead of trying to find a way to attack them while defending against from their attacks, Mirelle made a decision in that moment.
Mirelle ran, dodged and deflected all the Stonebark treants relentless attacks, and as she would run past another Stonebark Treant, she would then counter attack. Mirelle was gathering all the Stonebark's attention towards her, making all of the Stonebark Treants target her instead of the Party of Adventurer's inside my dome. Mirelle was obviously gathering all those Stonebark Treants for me to finish them off, she trusted me enough and assume I would realize what her intent was, and I did.
Approaching the [Hikari no Kekkai], I did a quick examination of every person in this Adventurer Party, it seems most of them were heavily injured and exhausted and the one clutching his stomach tightly was actually stopping himself from bleeding out, time was of the essence, I couldn't waste any more time on testing what type of magic would be the best to take the Stonebark Treants, I had to act fast. Raising my staff, I gathered the mana in me into the staff as a bright flaming golden spear materialized above me, shocking the Adventurer Party behind me by the heat the Flaming golden spear was emanating. "<<< [Fire Magic]— Kagutsuchi's Fang>>>!"
As the flaming golden spear hovers above me, I didn't stop supplying it with mana, making it even stronger than what I had used on the Orcs and other small monsters. I made [Kagutsuchi's Fang] as strong as when I had initally made and used it against the Stone Wyrm deep inside that dungeon. "Mirelle, are you ready?" I shouted towards Mirelle's direction, Mirelle firmly responded "Yes, Lady Celeste!" and I simply nodded as I simply waved my [Verdant Staff] towards the Stonebark Treants direction.
Mirelle who had been standing her ground, keeping all the Stonebark Treants in one location, as she defended against their relentless attacks noticed the bright flaming golden spear flying towards the stonebark's position. Without wasting a single moment, Mirelle unconsciously gathered her mana into her hands as she swung her katana in an upwards motion, carrying all the attacking branches along with its motion, before swinging her katana down as strong as she could.
With Mirelle's actions, all the attacking branches of the stonebark treants were embedded into the ground. While it wouldn't make them completely stop their attacks, it was enough to buy Mirelle time to escape and keep the stonebark treants stuck in place. Mirelle swiftly leaped out of the range of [Kagutsuchi's Fang] explosion, she was aware that this power was on the same level or even greater when I had used it against the Stone Wyrm, Mirelle then appeared beside me, just as the brightly flaming spear made contact with the group of stonebark treants.
As [Kagutsuchi's Fang] made contact with Stonebark Treants, it gave out a bright light as everything in its vicinity were engulfed in golden flames. The stonebark treants made noises as they struggled on the ground, smashing against one another, and swinging their branches wildly, before finally going quiet as some of them crumble, and a few stonebark treants falling to the ground.
