Haruki feared they were being monitored, so he interacted with his friends normally, pretending to have forgotten all that he had witnessed.
Takeshi and Akiko, on the other hand, were clearly enjoying the situation, diving into a heated discussion about the abilities they now possessed and what kind of monsters they would end up killing.
Haruki and Feng were calmer. In fact, Feng's brows had been furrowed since they left the previous room. Haruki had been friends with him for 13 years and immediately understood that he wasn't feeling comfortable.

Haruki guessed, his voice almost drowned out by Takeshi's shout of random spell names from a game they once played.
Feng turned to him slowly, pursing his lips, his expression shifting between reluctance and a search for solace. The only comfort he found was in knowing that, between him and Haruki, there was never a need to be shy. With difficulty, he let out a stream of his confused thoughts.
